Obviously, most of the time, a guy with a good RBI total is going to be a pretty quality hitter. But they're so dependent on other factors that they really shouldn't ever be used as a way to compare two players, especially when superior metrics are available. For instance, here's how useless RBIs can be: Player X 634 AB .232 AVG .290 OBP .391 SLG 24 HR 48 BB/93 SO 115 RBI Do you really want this guy on your team? |
