I looked around some book stores for it but no luck. [/ QUOTE ]Try Amazon.com Its THE best book for beginners trying to learn online as it covers some of the other aspects of the online game besides just straight poker. (Multi-tabling, bonuses, etc.) It shouldn't be the ONLY book you ever read, but if you're playing online you'll want to have this one. |

If you mean the book by Matt Hilger than most people consider it to be solid but not great. Certainly worth a read. [/ QUOTE ] It's my favorite and is one of the few books that Ed Miller recommentds. |

When I started playing poker, I bought two books. Winning Low Limit Holdem by Lee Jones and Internet Texas Holdem by Matthew Hilger.
I read, read and reread ITH and it made me a winning player. There are some pretty advanced stuff in it and I don't consider it "only" a good beginner's book. It's great for beginners, but advanced players will gain knowledge from it also. For people who want the book: You can find it on Amazon, you can buy it with Party Poker points and Absolute Poker Points. I don't know if there are other online poker room you can buy it, but I saw it in those two places. |

GSIH, ITH and SSHE (in that order) is my path of learning/studying poker, and I'm loving it. Some might want to add WLLHE somewhere, while others will avoid WLLHE at any cost.

Stars has it as well, but I'd get it with absolute points since they're not really good for anything else :-)

It is one of the best beginner books, along with Getting Started in Holdem and Winning Low Limit Holdem, 3rd edition. Haven't seen Byron Jacobs beginner book, but it should be a good one too [/ QUOTE ] I have the Jacobs book - it is excellent for the beginner IMO. Teaches you the key concepts in a very clear way. Lots of practice tests too. It's well written, paced and laid out. It's perfect to read before SSHE. |
