I almost did a similar thing yesterday as my friend is just getting into the game and so i sat at a bodog 25nl table and was just splashing around and the people were so bad. I was genuinely trying to lose money and i couldn't do it.
Part of it was probably because i was like 75/40 and could open push KJ on a J-high flop and get instacalled by 99 and JT. Seriously, i don't believe that FreakDaddy is being arrogant, merely pointing out the sheer level of stupidity among most 25NL players. He is trying to show you what is possible at this level. |

Na. I got them to play back at me, or tell me exactely where they stood. I had crap cards the whole time. My best hand was a pair of queens. There's a point somewhere in this post, I was debating on posting the whole session for SSNL players to learn. I dunno... I'm not playing nl25 again anytime soon. [/ QUOTE ] You're a poker expert obviously. Why not move up to 1000nl? You can get them to play back at you when you have the goods. |

I think there's a vocal minority that doesn't appreciate it. Maybe because as typical 25NL players we feel belittled. However, I think it would be a shock if more experienced 200NL players couldn't crush the 25NL game...and I think the perspective of why it is easy to crush is extremely helpful.
In fact, I think it would be great if you would consider continuing the experiment using a more typical TAG approach and reporting the soft spots as few of us would be interested in jumping into LAG/maniac mode. |

I think if you two table 25nl party and play laggy that 100PTB/100 is quite plausible. [/ QUOTE ] Are you willing to bet a few thousand dollars on whether you can average that? If you don't believe it, why should we? You got really lucky in that session. Your win rate is not close to sustainable, even though you would like it to be a sign of your skill and the wonderful progress you have made rather than just running well. Claims of ridiculous win rates are not new, and it's not a big deal to win a few buy-ins in a short period of time. Many good players have tried playing in a very LAG style in low stakes games. On average, it doesn't work nearly as well as it did for you in that short session. |

[ QUOTE ] lol, this is great stuff. someone runs well in one session on NL25 and assumes that they can win every hand they play their. Dude...100PTBB/100 is not sustainable, 1/4 of that is not sustainable over any significant sample size. Get your head out of your ass. Everyone feels like world beaters when they run good. Hell, I'm running good right now as well, but at least I realize it...sad state of affairs when you can't recognize it. Bad things are coming. oh, you might want to check out the BBV forums for future posts. [/ QUOTE ] Do you think 20PTBB/100 is sustainable playing an ABC TAG style of game across 6-8 tables? [/ QUOTE ] No. |
