Stox:
I saw you mentioned pokerEV in your latest blog post. I (and I'm sure many others) would love to see a pokerEV graph for your last 100k (or whatever sample) of NL, and last 100k of limit. I'm specifically interested in seeing the swings in equity adjusted winnings, although a lot of the other graphs are interesting as well. |

What's your take on other limit poker games like the Stud, O/8, Stud/8 & Razz? Should a limit hold'em specialist take the time to learn these games, or are they passe'? Or are they just passe' on the internet?
What about HORSE, SHOE and other mixed limit poker games? Do these games have a future, live or on the internet? |

First of all big props you as far as I can see with my 19 years you have achived very much in life.
I have 2 questions: I downloaded like 20-25 vids of stoxpoker at a poker related torrent site.Did you(stoxpoker) really allow it? If you would have to teach a beginner for 1/2$-3/6§ 6max LHE in like 3 sentances, what would you tell him? |

Hey Stox, I am curious as to what you meant when you said that in videos you play a style that is good for videos but not necessarily the best. Did you simply mean that in videos you try to play the best "ABC" game so everyone can learn well (such as not making moves or taking into account metagame considerations?), or were you alluding to something else? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think I ever characterized my "style" in videos as such but I do think that on plays that are close I will take the better entartainment value decision or the one that makes the hand go longer, etc....usually i can discuss the choice in my videos. it really is not/shouldnt be a big deal, an example would be 22 in the SB vs an unkown button stealer for LHE i think its pretty darn close between fold and 3 bet, i would usually 3 bet in videos. |

What's needed for a winning player at 400NL 6-max to move up to 600NL+ ? I have dabbled into higher stakes, but every time I feel like why am I putting myself into these pressure cooker situations? Does building a comfortable BR for higher stakes help? What was your approach to moving up in stakes? [/ QUOTE ] building up a comfortable bankroll helps, but mostly it just takes time to get used to the new amounts, and different people react differently in that situation. one thing that can help is ONLY move up/take shots on GOOD tables, and the other is to use a stop loss, so you get a bit mental piece of mind knowing your downside is capped. this is handling the psychological side only - the other piece you need is a strong game and a (correct) unbiased opinion of how well you stack up against the competition. |

How far up can you be a winning player in NL with a TAG kind of nitty style who plays his cards well but don't make too many moves but is very agressive and value bets and raises his own good hands and draws. With a lot of stealing pre too. A style like 20/14/3.5 and 30% stealing. [/ QUOTE ] All the way to the top baby. Thats my opinion anyways, but your description fits a number of winners at nosebleed as far as I am concerned. 20/14/3.5 for 6 handed is not all THAT nitty. for 4-5 handed it would be. |

who do you think is THE best limit player int he world? and rate these players, with grades or in order: Erik Sagström Tore Lagerborg texasLimitKing David Benyamine Freedom 25 Joe Cassidy Patrik Antonius Bengt Sonnert Stoxtrader also im now pretty much killing 5/10 shorthanded limit, what do u think is a good and what is an exceptional winrate at this level? and for headsup? [/ QUOTE ] good would be 1.5-2 bb/100 and exceptional would be 2.5-3.5, this is over a large sample though. Lots of ppl post 3+ for stretchs, but anyone who can do for 100k+ hands is very strong. as far as rating players, I don't think my opinion is worth all that much, and all of those players are very good. |

Why do you think you have progressed up 30/60+ faster than the average 2p2er (if this is indeed true) ?

why do you like to free showdown raise so much in LHE? I rarely find spots where I feel it would be a good play
I think the criteria for a good FSDR spot are: - some better hands fold, and some worse hands call - charge draws that won't put more bets in UI - not have to worry about folding the best hand to a reraise I find that very rarely will more than 1 of these conditions be met. almost noone folds a pair or ace high in the small-mid limit games I play, draws usually fire a last barrel UI, and vs many aggressive players there is the risk of a 3bet semibluff some reasons I can think of why FSDR would be good in a general sense is that they help you avoid tough river decisions and raising the turn often may slow down an aggressive flop checkraiser thanks |
