Or, we could have two games... one for a modest amount ($20-$50?) for the people who want to play for bragging rights and another $500 match for those who want there to be money involved.

I mean, I've only played one $500 HU match in my life, and this was against a sort of bad player when I was on hyper monkey chase losses tilt.

i like how the high stakers did it. best of three series, can be played all at once or different times. 5-10 blinds that never raise, 3000 chips to start (300 BB). winners advance through the bracket tourney style. maybe we could do blinds raise every 20 mins? not sure. but i dont want the standard structure its too fast.

neither do single tournaments lol

it kind of cuts away from the bragging rights if we exclude more than half the forum

Big time. More than $50-$100 is retarded.

Yeah, I think $50 is fine. On FTP Forum (main forum I post at) we did a 32 player bracket style HU tourney. $25 a piece, and sick prizes for top 3 like an iPod and chit. It was 5,000 starting stacks, 30 minute blinds, and 10/20 starting. Good structure IMO, it worked out great.

i like the structure, i would like best of three with that structure better and maybe 15-20 min blinds. i even like the prize idea but the buyin is too small i think

I absolutely agree about the prize pool. We are poker players for crying out loud! Bragging rights is for Scrabble.

It shouldn't matter if half the forum is excluded. We want to know who the best is. A $2 player doesn't have a chance.

Hopefully this will take a few weeks to set up so I can afford it.

With the structures you are talking about a match will take at least an hour, multiply that by 3 games per player and multiply that by x players, and it becomes way to much work for a $50 first place. Bragging rights or not, I wouldn't want to waste my time playing 18 hours for less than a $400 profit, and I say that now because I am a low-staker, I would feel different if I was playing higher, I think.

If were not playing for bragging rights why even play against each other? You can make more money against random fish.
