Adderall will make you play better and longer. I was able to play for 14 hours with small food and bathroom brakes, altough my concentration suffered I felt like I only played for half that time. From my experiance adderall feels better than ritalin and it can do wonders for some people. A prescription to concerta and ritalin turned my roomate from a dumb, useless pothead in to a productive law school student. Since its your first time you should not take more than 20 mg and 10 mg should be fine. A word of caution, snorting adderall and drinking feels very much like cocain and drinking. Snorting adderall is very bad for you and some even say that its worse than coke. I would never try meth of any form especially cristal since its as addictive as crack and heroin, no joke. Trying adderall prolly will not hurt yo u since even kids are prescribed adderall but do not snort it, you might as well just buy an 8 ball.

Provigil(Modafinil) > Adderall

No sweaty palms, grinding jaw, weird urination experiences, or sexual dysfunction. No missing pills and roommates with blue boogers the next day. Just smooth, subtle focus. No Jonesing for it if you forget to take it or run out.

About $8 a pill though. Much, much cheaper if you can get your doctor to persuade your insurance company that you do in fact need it, as opposed to the alternatives.

As an aside, I love how so many posters in this thread see nothing wrong with abusing narcotics, provided they originated from a pharmacy.

Being aggressive is good [censored]. Tom Cruise is smart/goodlooking/successful, maybe a little crazy but who isn't? Quit hatin on people better than you.

I don't like to feed the trolls, but seriously - Tom Cruise is a Scientologist. QED.

I see nothing wrong with abusing narcotics, whether or not they came from a pharmacy. Being high is fun. Tripping is fun. I assume adderall and its likenesses are...well not necessarily fun, but useful.

I dont think there has been anybody in this thread who said something like "well at least they're legal". In fact, getting caught with adderall illegally is technically about the same as having heroin or coke on you, as far as the law is concerned.

I'll look into the Provigil

Try something herbal (no, not THAT herb-al) first. Ginko-biloba, or however it's spelled. Do LOTS of research on any mood-altering drug before you take any. Asking here on the boards is one way to get feedback from others who have done the same thing, but don't rely solely on it to make any decisions.

On a semi-related note, FIDE, the international chess federation was applying for entry into the IOC (International Olympic Committee), but dropped out due to drug testing policies. The argument from FIDE is that there isn't a drug that will artificially enhance a chess-players' skill. No equivalent to steroids. It's a little more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it.

If drugs won't signifigantly help a chess player, then I think they are relatively unlikely to help a poker player.

Well if a chess player has to play his A game for an hour, that is pretty easy to do.

If a poker player has to play his A game for an hour, thats pretty easy to do.

If a poker player is a professional, and the amount of money he makes pretty much relies on the amount of hours he puts in - A drug that lets him easily put in more hours would result in a LOT of money and a faster learning experience (due to more hands/situations seen).

Helps your concentration, lets you sit and fold 85% of your hands easily, makes you want to be productive for hours and hours on end. I've pretty much read that one aderall pill can make you play your A-game for 6-12 hours and enjoy it.

I play poker professionally, and average about 150-200$ an hour doing so. [ QUOTE ]
