I was snorkeling on my honeymoon in the Mayan Riviera. As I was swimming along looking at fish, I saw something shiny about 20 feet in front of me. I swam over and picked it up. It was my wedding ring. I couldn't believe I had lost it without knowing and then found it. It's a white gold band that cost about $400. Wife was none too please that I forgot to take it off.

[ QUOTE ]
left my ti-89 calculator sitting on a table in a library type place at school. Left the room for a few minutes and when I came back it was replaced with a ti-83. I kept it for a week or so but was pissed and lost it anyway, now i use a ti-12 or something and it barely adds.

That sucks. I would beat somebody with a bat for replacing my TI-89 with a TI-83. Just [censored] take it next time.

I lost my glasses in the 5th grade, I had an extra pair and all but they costed a lot of money (like $200 for both, so an EV of $100).

Lost a digital camera that I paid close to $400 for, but probably not worth nearly that much when I lost it due to the fact that by that point, the next version had come out and it (the new version) was now selling for about $325. Don't even know where I lost it or how. I thought it was in my bag, but I looked and it wasn't. Goes to show how often I take pictures. It could've been gone for about a month before I realized.

My wedding ring. The day after my wife left out of town for a few days and I was headed to the Heart Attack Grill..

Not my finest moment from the wife's viewpoint.

Ray

Edit: I forgot. I lost $20,000. I would guess this may count. I did find it again tho.

My girlfriend's grandparents live in the middle of nowhere up in the mountain. Lost my $1250 glasses (using today's conversion rate anyway. more like $1000 at the time), as they fell out of my pocket while I was riding a snow scooter between their house and the road where cars can be. About an hour's ride, and cold as hell.

Amazingly, my girlfriend's grandmother found them in the snow not far away from their house a few days later. They were banged up, though, so I still had to buy new ones.

So yeah, stuff is expensive in Norway.

put down my bag containing my brothers NDS and a few books next to a video game in a mall in hungary. forgot to take the bag with me when i left. come back 5 mins later and ofc its not there. all in all probably worth $300 or so. it sucks to lose your own stuff, but nothing is worth than losing someone elses stuff.
