[ QUOTE ] McNabb or Vince Young this week??? [/ QUOTE ] You would really hope that Mcnabb can throw 3 against that giants team. But he just looks so bad of late. [/ QUOTE ] They're playing the Lions this week, Giants next week. Still, McNabb is the easy choice. |

austiger,
I would definitely drop rhodes for jacobs. I'm not sure rhodes' ceiling is even better than Williams or Dunn. Jacobs on the other hand could be a better starter than whoever you got once he returns. |

Do you think he will have a breakout game this week?

Standard Yahoo, 8-team, QB/3WR/2RB/TE/K/DEF 2-0 at this point based on WRs going insane for me. Lineup: QB: McNabb or Kitna WR: Plaxico/Galloway/Housh + Lee Evans RB: Benson/Maroney + Derrick Ward (NYG backup) + Brandon Jacobs (currently hurt, obv) TE: Gates + Crumpler K: Vinatieri + Wilkins Def: Baltimore What should I be looking to do with this team? Obviously Gates and Baltimore are A+++, and either kicker is fine to take along. Crumpler is most likely dead weight. My starting WRs seem fine. I'm really nervous about the rest. Chicago's offense is sucking and Benson is fumble-happy, Maroney is splitting carries a lot, and who knows how Jacobs will be upon return. Lee Evans (and Buf in general) are sucking. McNabb has been stellar. Kitna got Jesus knocked through his skull on Sunday. I have no chance to trade for the very best players (I could offer my whole team and they'd say no), but I probably have a shot at some second-tier players. Romo and Roethlisberger are warming the bench. Travis Henry and McGahee are RB2, Willie Parker, Jamal Lewis, Marion Barber, (and Ahman Green/Marshawn Lynch, but ewwww) are sitting on benches. Should I try to trade McNabb for Romo or Roethlisberger? Should I trade any of my RBs for any of the ones I listed? [/ QUOTE ] First of all, there's really no reason to have Vinatieri/Wilkins. You have very little depth on your team in the important positions. I might consider trying to package Vinatieri and your D for a decent back. Any chance you can find someone willing to do that? |

Do you think he will have a breakout game this week? [/ QUOTE ] I haven't watched the games to see how bad he's played, but he's going up against two very favorable pass defenses in the next two weeks. He almost definitely will perform better than he has. How much better, I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go for 250/2 this week. |

I am in a league with some weird owners.
This has to be the stupidest move I've ever seen. 8 team league, 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 flex, 1 te, 1 def, 1 pk One of the owners (runner-up in last year's league), drops Marques Colston, a guy ranked as the 19th best WR in the league. Who does he pick up? John Broussard. Who? Yeah, I had to look him up too. He's listed as the 141st best WR in the league. Then, he drops Broussard after one week (never even bothered playing him). Of course, everyone else in the league scrambled to pick up Colston off of waivers (I didn't get him though). OK, everyone is entitled to one mistake, right? Well, he also dropped three decent RBs: Jamal Lewis, Lendale White, and Deuce McAllister (ranked number 21, 25, and 29 by footballguys). In return, he picked up Shaun McDonald (65th best WR) and Sam Hurd (64th best WR) and the 63rd best TE in the league (Justin Peelle). Seriously, what the hell is he thinking? Last year, another owner dropped Donald Driver and TJ Houshmanzadah after bad weeks. |

I've seen this happen when the collusion partner has the right waiver priority. the number of players being dropped also allows them to do it more then once. Since other people will grab the guys being dropped, once the cheater has once again gotten the high waiver priority, he can drop another stud. |

[/ QUOTE ] Collusion went through my mind also. But the only guy who's been picked up so far is Colston. And the guy who picked up Colston does not like the guy who dropped him (it's a league with a bunch of former co-workers and those two never got along.) I honestly think that the Colston dropper just has no clue. I'd say that he has favorite players, but seriously, who's favorite player is John Broussard? And here's the weird thing. In double checking my recap, he didn't pick up Colston from the waiver wire. He was a free agent. The first owner dropped him after the wavier period was over, so he was up for grabs. For some reason, I never bothered looking last week. |
