This solution was the best available, I spent many hours considering other options with 2+2ers and clients. The only other equitable choice was a freeroll, and pretty much no one wanted that. As it is, I'm am trying to do the best I can to pay all clients fairly, and distribute the affiliate income properly. It's unlikely I will even make a profit for this last month.
Please email me at [email protected] for any further explanation. |

i feel that i should post an update based on my AIM conversation with tim. i'm refraining from giving my opinion on how he has handled the matter, everyone here can draw their own private conclusions:
-he explained to me that he was at breakeven profitwise for december and january, and since pt stats would not reflect the deductions for bonuses from the MGR, 15% was the best he could do to hope to turn any profit in february, and that all he was getting from party was 25% of our MGR. -i then told him that he has not taken into account the MGR that he will be making off several players in march and april who have to continue playing on their current accounts due to the acceler8tor bonus and current reloads. we will not be receiving and rakeback on this MGR that party will pay him. in my opinion, this would more than cover the difference between 15% and a more realistic percentage while still leaving him with a tidy profit. he responded by saying that he doesn't know how much longer he will maintain his affiliate status at party. -i then told him that 15% wasn't close to approaching what is really due to me personally (under the original formula of .25x(MGR-bonus)). he said that he could not look things over on a case by case basis. -i told him that even though it was sad that he couldn't turn a profit for dec and jan at 25%, it wasn't my responsibility to determine the financial feasibility of his operation. he then cited the terms and conditions of his website, which state that he can change the terms of the original agreement at any time, etc, etc. he emphasized a few times that he could change the terms at any time. i'll let you draw your own conclusions from this. that's a rough summary of the conversation. at least i am thankful that i will be receiving something, and will be more vigilant in choosing an affiliate in the future. |

while i can't delete my previous post (i assume too much time has elapsed), i'd like to say that it was based on incomplete information that has since been clarified and i do not intend for it to be misleading. draw your own conclusions from private discussions with rtr.

As far as I'm concerned, there are two issues. 1) February, 2)Beyond. I'm happy with the solution for Feb, even though my hard drive crashed a week into it and I lost a week of stats. Oh well. But I think the solution for Feb is fair and equitable, at least, it's close enough.
What concerns me is beyond. If all that happened was that the trackers got turned off and Tim will still be getting paid for our future action, that to me is disgusting. If Party is shutting him down completely and not paying him at all, then that's an entirely different situation, obviously. I don't think he's made it at all clear which one of these is the case. |

This is unbelievable. I cannot believe with all of the poker smarts and access to spreadsheet software that you cannot come up with a viable alternative to JUST paying out 15%? Why not get copies of your players Pokertrackers for the month? Did you have access to the to the trackers earlier in the month where you can just do a math calculation that will bring your players CLOSER to there actual payout?
If you are only paying 15% then there is no doubt that you are turning a profit. If anyone on this forum in any capacity believes him then they are clearly moronic. If you got offered your numbers for 1%, why didn't you take it? Wouldn't this have solved the solution? Couldn't you have paid 50% of the 1% up front, got half the numbers etc.etc.etc. This would of been a viable alternative. It seems like to me that the original poster was DEAD ON that RTR is/was going to [censored] over his players. In my honest opinion this was one of the worst business decisions ever. He had plenty of options and just took the easiest one. |

How would a different affiliate have RTR's individual numbers anyway?

I think you get 15% of your january stats, not the full amount. That's not fair

It's my understanding that he's paying either 15% of your January amount or 15% of the pokertracker stats that you send him. I can't see how, in any world that's fair. My MGR was about the same both months. I never hit the accelerator8 promotion or really ever came close. I'm getting hosed.
And who is to say that he doesn't still get rakeback? If you keep your account open he might still be getting 100%. I used to trust the guy and I was happy with his support, but now I no longer trust him. He has to do what he has to in order to make sure he doesn't get screwed, but paying out 15% just isn't fair at all. |
