All the women are conniving bitches who want new cars, furs, and sushi every day without wanting to face the reality of where it comes from. This is what women are like.

What were those "spirits" they were describing at the beginning - the 7 entities of life/death?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its from the Egyptian book of the dead. Its the perfect choice since Adrian came back from the dead to visit Carmella in her dreams. Its additionally poignant because William S Burroughs was a heroin junkie and an American hero.. just like Chris.

And that was Burroughs prose they were reading at the beginning of the episode about the Egyptian Book of the Dead? (I was distracted at the start of the show).

(On a side note - Burroughs is related to the Burroughs of Burroughs Computers - thanks Wiki.)

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep... that was Burroughs himself speaking his prose. I wish I met him before he died

Guys, could we keep the misogyny to a dull roar?

I thought the episode was fantastic. You could show these characters doing basically anything and I would think it was great.

The only thing I was disappointed about was the Raymond Curto storyline. I know he was never a major character, but he has been around since the beginning and they always showed him talking to the FBI a few times a season. It just seemed like they couldnt think of anyway to resolve his situation so they just went with a heart attack. I thought with him having his birthday party in the final episode of last season that it hinting at him playing a bigger part in this series. I actually thought he might play major part in the fall of the Soprano family.

Also, since anything is possible, did anyone think that he had been poisoned instead of dying from natural causes? There was no indication whatsoever that anyone had knowledge he was a CI, but Tony did have a look on his face at the funeral that made me question this. But theyve never dealt with a rat this way before so it seems unlikely.

I'll also add that I always really liked Pontecorvo and am sad he is gone. He never had a major role but I always enjoyed his character. Also never realized how much he looked like Finn unti this episode.

I don't feel misogynistic in real life.

But these females on this show are something else entirely.

If my post was offensively misogynistic I apologise, I just think that both the male and female characters on the show are devestating examples of common character flaws.

Did anyone else catch the look Carm gave Angie Bomboncero when she tried to show off the new Porche and Angie shoved the 'vette right back in her face? I love how women can be so passive-aggressive about that stuff.

Dumb-ass was supposed to cinch the noose to the SIDE of his neck, so it would break his neck and kill him instantly.

[/ QUOTE ]

Naw, it would only break his neck if he fell a sufficient distance. He just stepped off a stool. That wouldn't break his neck.

I found the fact that he could have stepped back on the stool at any time to be a little distracting. He didn't really kick it away, he just stepped off it. He even kicked it a few times as he thrashed about. I kept expecting him to step back on it and save himself.
