The sunday GP on Pokerroom, down to 45 players w/ top 40 paid. Blinds 500/1000, 9 handed, I have 7k. I have been stealing/winning the blinds with an all-in about once per orbit to keep pace for about an hour, exposing my very good hands (TT, AK) when its folded to my push.
Its folded to me in SB w/ J4o, I think about it then push. BB has me covered by like 500 chips. He's been very reasonable, I think he calls with top 7-10% here. Clearly this is a +EV push as far as chips go. But was it correct ? More importantly, how do I go about deciding if it was correct. And by correct I mean the move that maximizes long term cash winnings. If this has been discussed elsewhere, sorry for wasting your time, just point me there and I'll go read it. Thanks... CT |

Hi CT,
I think this is a no brainer push, but only because of the time of the tournament and the BB's stack size. If there were say 65 players left I think it starts to become close. If the BB had 14 or 15k then it is also getting close. But the combination of him having a similar stack size to you and you guys being so close to the money makes this a push with any 2 cards IMO. |
