Good Game. Two limpers to me in the CO, I limp A2s, button limps, blinds do something.
Flop is AQ5r. Check, BB(youngish tight guy) bets, both limpers call... Can I just fold now? |

Calling is either marginally right or terribly wrong, and usually the latter. Fold plz.
I'm assuming you don't have a backdoor flush draw. |

Tough decision. I would expect the limpers to have nothing, but the BB to have a weak ace. I would raise now planning on 1) possibly folding the flop to more aggression, 2) betting the turn & checking the river unless something interesting happens. If BB has something like A4, you will be chopping almost all the time. Ideally, the flop would have been AQ8, which is much better for chopping than AQ5.
BTW, fold pre-flop, you need more than 2 limpers to make A2s profitable. |

I was assuming that you had a backdoor flush draw (3/4 shot, right?)

[/ QUOTE ] I guess it is not clear to me what you were hoping for by calling pre-flop. To hit your deuce? Flop a straight? Obv choice after the flop is to raise, maybe become the button. You have a back door straight and top pair. Take a free turn and wait to the river to decide your action. Fold river if ui. |

With backdoor flush & straight draws, I'd normally take one off. Without the backdoor flush draw, I'd muck.
Calling preflop is a must in these loose-passive games, as long as you're able to get away from marginal spots. The turn is a clear fold here UI regardless of flop action. |

[/ QUOTE ] he's hoping to flop a flush or a draw to it, or to flop a straight, or trips or two pair. The main value of this hand it to flop top pair, and to get the kind of action that indicates your hand is probably good. That isn't the case here. Just because you hit your hand doesn't mean you have to play. In fact, hero should muck preflop if he can't get away from situations like this. |

What do you mean, a ten? You have a backdoor wheel draw. Obviously not a ton of value, but it certainly shouldn't be completely dismissed.
