Be honest: How often did you loose your complete bankroll ?

Never. I never even lost my balance, which should be distinguished from a bankroll. I started with play chips, then hit a royal flush jackpot which gave me $5, took that to $0.01-$0.02 limit (with two $0.01 blinds), NL $2, $5 SNGs, $10 SNGs, and then moved $500 to Party, where I made the final tables of my first two MTTs to reach $1000. This took 2 months.

The most dangerous time was when I was playing NL $2 (buying in for $1) with a balance of $8, and I didn't know how to play NL yet. I had played MTT freerolls, but cash games were different. I think I was a winning player from the start at everything else. Being a winning player is very important for avoiding going bust.

After I hit $1k, I started clearing bonuses by playing $1-$2 limit, and hit $10k in about 3 more months. Then I moved to NL $100, where I again started to win more from my play than the bonuses.
