The car that rings a bell the loudest is the Lexus IS300. You won't find a better car in terms of looks, performance and prestige.

Here are some other cars you consider, but keep in mind buying used is much better than buying new.

Scion TC (ew.... but fits your budget, total chick car)
Acura RSX (Very aggressive looking, easily moddable)
Infiniti G35 (Medium mileage)
Porsche Boxster (It's a Porsche.)
BMW M3 E36 (It's a BMW.)
BMW M3 E46 (High mileage, ditto)
Mazda RX-7 (Totally sweet btw.)
1998 Nissan 240SX (Kouki S14 so you can get the angry eyes and drop an SR20DET into it and pimp them mad bizchezt)

PM me if you have any questions.

Budget is 0-20,000, new or used...

I want a car that's gonna be nice for long trips on highways, and can impress the BITCHES

does not compute

Why not? You can do it for less than $15,000. You just need to have good taste and knowledge of aftermarket parts. A modded RX-7 gets a ton of looks and only costs like, $12k.

I'm more of a reserved kinda guy. What would say to an old Benz S-class or BMW 7 series? Would have to be a 2001 or older 7 series, or 1999 or older S-class... Hm, maybe i could snag an 00-01 S-class for 20,000

I would have to recommend something Japanese in terms of reliability. The older Benzes either have expensive maintanence or look very oudated. If you'd like an old MBZ, I'd recommend maybe an S500, or C240 or something. Keep in mind, I don't know Benzes though. European wise, I'd like a BMW or Porsche.

give it up, you're going to get pressured into getting a Toyota Yaris and your balls will finally retract completely.
