[ QUOTE ]
Beckham is known by almost all of the European countries as well as a decent portion of Latin America and Africa I'm sure. However, I doubt many Asians would recognize him at all and even where soccer is popular not everyone could pick him from a lineup. [/ QUOTE ] hahahahahaha |

Wow there are some ridiculously "U.S.-centric" views here. I guess that shouldn't be surprising given most posters are american... Nobody in the world is better known right now than GW. Is anyone else hated by 1/2 the world and quietly tolerated like a terrier puppy that just [censored] on the floor by the other 1/2?? In case you've forgotten here's a search for just some of the protests that GW sparks whenever he goes ANYWHERE.

Maybe that's why. |

I'd be very surprised if Michael Jordan is more recognizable than David Beckham anywhere outside the US.

OOTiots ftl as usual. "U.S. centric" is putting americans as 1/2 of the list of potential most recognizable people worldwide. "U.S. centric" is thinking Michael Jordan is the most recognized person in the world (WTF?). Sorry that reflecting the (public) world view of Bush is "a political rant". I thought that [censored] was common knowledge. I was simply using that to support my assertion that Bush is the most recognizable figure worldwide as he has sparked strong feelings in so much of the world's population. If you believe Bush isn't the most recognizable, feel free to disagree.

I actually don't know what Beckham looks like, but I know who he is. I live in the US and don't follow the footballs.
