Limping pre flop is not a terrible play. Do'nt like the check on the flop you have a strong but not unbeatable hand and need to protect it. Once the 9c comes up you you have a problem do you have the best hand or the best draw? The outbreak of micro betting doesn't help to define your hand a raise might be in order.

On the river you are beat put the hand down.
