switchblade will get you into more trouble if you have to use it. have a folder that you can open one handed easily.
whatever you carry learn how to use it. a simple rolled up maganzine or a pencil is better than a knife in most cases against one person. they wont be expecting that to get them where if they see a knife you will be instantly in danger.

Mace is too pussy. I want something baller and scary as hell. I have no reason to actually want this and do not fear for my life, it just simply gives me better peace of mind.

I think that's a bad move. You really don't want to be pulling out anything you aren't planning on using. It escalates the situation and invites way more crazy retaliation. That's when you get someone going back to their car to get their gun, or telling their friends, who figure you're way out of line and come back to send you to the hospital or a morgue. I'm not saying don't carry a weapon; I've carried one almost all my life. But don't go flashing it or using it to make threats.

And for god's sake, don't let it sneak into your head and subconsciously create more opportunities for you to go where you shouldn't go, do what you shouldn't do, mess with people who may be more crazy or connected than you know, and generally punk it up.

Also, you might laugh with some guy about macing each other one day, but you won't be laughing about slicing each other up, ever. And your friends won't be laughing about your getting them into those situations, either.

wtf is that website a self defense/dildo emporium?

Yawara sticks are awesome but illegal in many states. Keep your eye out when you're in hardware stores and the like, and you can get equivalents that a cop would be unlikely to call a concealed weapon unless they were pushing the envelope.
