I don't think the results really matter that much. I figured I'm way ahead of his overall range and I was relatively short stacked and I needed chips.
But for the record, I pushed, the big blind folded AQ, and the initial raiser had pocket Kings and I was unable to suck out. The reaction from the table, not that I really care, was that my play bordered on insanity. The player to my right, a multi bracelet winner, looked at me like I was an idiot. According to him survival was more important, let other players bust out, and be there to get lucky if you need to. Why, according to him, would you call off almost half your chips when you have zero fold equity? I can't say I really agree with his logic, but I thought this hand was somewhat interesting. Bruce |
