General comment: I don't play to accommodate other people. So if an online reg is sitting with a whale whose money I want, I don't care about if he's stuck or what his stack size is or whatever. I do everything to get the whale's money. I didn't think that online poker sites are friendship clubs for regulars where it's usual and expected to stand back and let other regs win the suckers' monies. When I depend on other regulars to have $$ traded or whatever or I know the regular in person, I might let him play HU. But I would consider it a personal favor from my side.

leatherass,

Haven't read the entire thread, just giving you my .02 on your OP.

I've always had the view that it's unethical for just 1 person to ask for HU and try to give the fish no say-so, so I would say that it has always been fine to play in a 2 handed game if just one person wanted it HU and the other was cool with you playing.

Up until Stars added HU tables, I had the view that if both people wanted it HU, then it was the right thing to do to respect their wishes and let them play HU. Now that Stars has HU tables, this seems ridiculous to me since they could just go play on one of those.

I'm assuming you held your views before Stars added HU tables as well, since you sat at a 5/10 6 max table that I was at after me, the other guy, and 3 people who were sitting out asked you not to sit. That was just a dick move, imo. He ended up quitting me when we couldn't have HU, so basically you gained nothing while costing me potential earnings just to try to idk, prove that you didn't have to respect people that wanted to play HU.

Not an issue any more since the Stars update, but those are my views for what they're worth.

Just to let everyone know for the record that I banned myself from chat and also can not see others chat. I generallyclick on Notes tab so i can't see chat either. So I definitely didn't see what people were telling me. A few times I have obv. which lead to this post.

Yeah, it's cool, no hard feelings or anything like that. Actually I told someone that night that you prob just had notes or info tab up or some such. I just thought after this post that maybe you didn't.

Anyway, I probably shouldn't have even went into that - my point was just that before HU tables, I think if BOTH people wanted HU at a 6 or 9 max table, it should be respected. Now I think this is very rarely the case. There was a good point earlier in the thread about maybe if a game broke, both players wanted HU, and stacks were deep it should still be respected. I agree w/ this, but in general I think it should be much less of an issue now with the HU tables.

OP,

Why do feel as if you need to justify or validate yourself on 2+2. If you want to shortstack then do it. If you want to sit in others games then do it. I am not really sure why you started this thread.

Is it just me or do people care way too much about this stuff? We are talking about playing a game on the internet. If two people are playing but the site lets other people join the table, they can join it. Big deal. It may not be a "nice" thing to do, but it's not so bad either. Same thing with buying in for a short stack. It's something that's perfectly fine but a lot of people don't like it. Why bother even thinking about this stuff that you can't really control when you could be focusing on what's really important, taking money from suckers.

[/ QUOTE ]

You know something? I can understand some of you guys making fun of shortstackers. i really can. But how about you cut ME a break? I mean after all it's not like I can't play real poker. TRUST me I will be a bigger pain in your ass if I full stack you guys. Be glad that I do this once in awhile. If you want to make fun of the other short stackers oh well.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is just golden stuff right here.

So you're trying to convince us that you're giving up EV by shortstacking? I trust you for sure.

You're doing a good job building your reputation now that it might actually matter.

I used play on a site where you could chat before sitting, if I got to a table with just 2 sitting, I always asked first if they are playing H/U (H/U tables are generally full, so H/U in a FR/6 max is common).

I just thought it a common courtesy.

Just a thought, why not make it a tradition to come to 2+2 and post a request somewhere that players who agree with the HU etiquette come and sit at the table to take up all the seats? Would this just attract shortstacking scum?

To OP: How often does this tactic result in you actually making money rather than breaking the game? It seems like jerks do this just to do it because they are jerks rather than any actual +ev.

leatherass is done with this thread apparently, and now sending angry PMs.

i find it laughable that you not only represent stox poker (Nick is a fantastic person/player obv), but that you expect a break to be given to your ratholing/shortstacking ways, bc, 'come on guys, i do it for fun, i know im giving up ev."

lollll.

this is funny in and of itself, but to then expect to be treated differently than the rest of the short stacks that ruin games? why? bc u play alot of hands? bc u started to post on 2p2, so its all good now?

i dont play much on stars, but from what ive seen and from the look of this thread, it seems that you are also stretching the truth about how often you shortstack.

as you can see, i stand by my statement i made earlier in this thread. it seems dead on too, especially given your responses following it.

I'm pretty sure EVERYONE was done with this thread already.

BTW since you are a moderator. Can I request a ban for myself? I'd rather go somewhere where you can say something without 5 jillion people making fun of you for it. That sure isn't any fun. I'm not kidding either about the ban.
