2/5 Live.
Player next to my right is loose (more aggressive than passive but not a maniac). In a previous hand, he raised to 35 UTG with AJ off and called my re-reraise to 80 (I had pocket kings but she got flopped an ace). Now she raises again UTG to 35 and I am dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. We both have stacks of 700 and I reraised to 75. The rest of the table folds and she makes the call. Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. She checks dark I check (when I had kigs made the same play). Turn is a king [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. She bets 100. Hero?? Raise or call?? |

raise more preflop. Bet flop for sure, certainly not a good board to slowplay on. Raise turn as played.

This and most other live hands belong in MicroNL, despite the stakes.

I agree: I should have made it at least 100 to go and should have raised turn (usually I almost never slowplay, but this time I incorrectly sensed a bluff and wanted her to bet the river). River card was a scary Jack of spades, she checked (by then I was sure she didnt have a straight or flush) I bet 100 and she folded a set of 9s.
I am not sure about betting the flop though. She was unlikely to have 10 J, she usually raises in EP with pocket pairs and big aces, so I could let her to see the turn card cheaply and then push. My apologies to the expert players who think this is not appropriate for medium no limit forum. You guys should move to the high stakes section. |
