i think there's a huge difference between confidence and arrogance - i don't think it quite matters, as that's simply semantics and doesn't get down to the root of any issue. regardless, i'd go so far as to say that confidence and arrogance often don't have much to do with anything. you can see arrogance all over this site - but you'll see a lot of unconfident people as well.

as for humility, it's a sexless goal - almost a goal of non-being. for another, i sincerely doubt it's a goal you will ever attain. humility is a good quality, but in the end, it seems opposed to desire, and isn't something you should (or possibly can) actively seek out.

also yes it was fight club that came up with the concept that having no overriding belief means that anything is possible for a particular person
