16 left in a FPP satellite to the Million, 8 get seats, I am in 7th with an average stack. Everyone is pretty bunched up as seen by my table.
I have been raising a lot in LP (~40%) and I have been the most active player at the table the past few orbits with minraises and the like. Not superlaggy but something like 27/20. A couple orbits ago I opened from the button and folded to a 3bet from SB. Have played one hand with villain, where he showed A9o after smoothcalling my PFR and jamming over my c-bet (i had KQ on 886 flop). He got a good stack by sucking out with KQ vs. AQ after jamming over an EP opener. So who makes this call? If I win I coast in, if I lose I'm done. If I fold I am still in the hunt. Not sure how this fits into adanthar's satellite strategy, but I think you have to call here given your history at the table. You don't have enough chips to fold into the money.
Judging by your description of hte A9 v. KQ hand, it seems to me he likes to shove over any bet that would generally look like you have nothing. A late position raise certainly fits into this category, especially if you've been raising 40% in LP. I suck at figuring out calling ranges, but I think I call with 77+, A9s+, ATo+, KQ. |

Let's say a pushing range for villian is: 77+,ATs+,KQs,AJo+. You are raising on the button, and he could be raising with more marginal hands.
88 is a 1.32:1 dog against that range, and you are getting ~ 1.38:1 to call. This is a close spot and is range dependent. If you think he is pushing a range wider than the one I listed, this is a call. You do need chips to survive, and doubling up on a possible re-steal here is a good spot to try and accumulate. So, if it was against a tight player, I would fold this, but with your history against this player, I would be tempted to call. |

meh, in a satellite with your chip position i fold this without too much thought. i think you can find spots to accumulate chips and take advantage of sate-donks with much less risk
