yeah, the gokart selling part is hilarious as well

i also believe this guy is from Nigeria, as they stated they were and why would they state they are from the scamming capital of the world if they were located in Salt Lake City?

not to mention; who sends a random stranger $6k in the mail, trusting that they will send the change back from a $1500 purchase?

what would happen if you took the check to a check-cashing store? some of these places require no ID to cash a check...

I almost fell for one of these when I was 18, except the guy claimed to be from the UK. I was selling a car on autotrader for $7500 and the guy wanted to give me a cashiers check for $15000, and I would send $1000 to some guy in LA who is a third party shipper and send the rest back to him in the UK. His reason for the check being more money than I needed was that he was trying to buy a more expensive car and the deal fell through, but now the check is already made out. RED FLAG RED FLAG. If the check was already made out, it would have someone elses name on it... this can't be good.
Anyways, I say whatever, send me the check, so about a week later I get a $15000 cashiers check in the mail from some bank in Florida. I go to that banks website and see an alert for fake cashiers checks from their bank, so I take it to my bank to find out. Branch manager tells me he believes its real, as it has all the marking they look for to determine if its real. I call said bank in Fla and they tell me under no circumstances to cash the check. They took down all my info and had the US Secret Service contact me...I emailed the guy back and told him it was a fake check, blah blah blah... And he sends me this. Figured it's good for a laugh....

Brian ,
I sent this directly to you via The Curse Of The Wicked Soul. Cradling the powers of the Orunmila to Wizard Of Ingoni, I have unleashed an army of seventy-two spirits and demons. The Eiye Efe will gaze from above as the summons of the spirits appear before your eyes. My cosmic powers have grown from the fears of deception and will reek havoc and spill the blood of the guilt. I have carved marks of evil into your conscience and your spiritual blindness will direct you to fall into the hands of proper authorities. The curse will begin when I attach this written segment of your soul "hope you are christain, in the name of the almight God. help me thanks". For you have only made me wiser. Money is just paper in which I used to buy your soul. If you would like it returned unharmed, you must make ammends to the deception you have brought amongst yourself. If you do not, you will live for eternity in the firey pits of hell and in fear of Bytor, Light of Darkness, Centurion Of Evil, Devil's Prince.
The U.S. Secret Service and the FBI will be on this case if the funds is not sent today. Did you think you'll eat somebodys money.

I love how your bank manager is all for you cashing the check, then being liable in a month when the money is gone. Really on the ball there. Can't imagine how this kind of stuff ever happens with that kind of vigilance from the scamee's bank.

Also who exactly is that email from and to? And who wrote it? I'm confused. Awesome reference to Bytor though. Must have been a Rush fan.
