Is any one else real nervous that they're going to end up trading the future (ie Bourn) for a rental pitcher who isn't that much better than what we got?

I'd be fine with Rowand. However every rumor I hear mentions them trying to trade Bourn. There was a rumor the Twins were interested in Burrell (please god be true).

Without Utley the season is over.

Their bullpen is still atrocious and now they've lost probably the most valuable person in their offense, which has to carry the team.

Trade Rowand now. They need to get what they can for him before they lose him for nothing as an UFA this summer.

GG Phils.

With Burrell hitting, Coste perhaps back in the lineup for a while, Iguchi added and Gordon and Myers back, they will be in the race for a while at a minimum unless Howard goes down.

He can carry the team for a month, hitting-wise. Rowand is fine.

I'll never understand the Philly hate for Burrell, save the fact he is obviously overpaid and not good defensively, but c'mon we've had Lonnie Skates and Bull Luzinski out there, it's not like it's a new thing going on. And he's really cut his strikeouts year after year, and has a very good arm.

Burrell had the 2nd lowest BABIP in the NL/[mlb?] thru early July...he was due for a reversion to the mean. And lo and behold -- he's having a monster July.

An AL team that needed a solid power hitter with good OBP would be foolish not to be interested if PHL would pick up some of the $$$.

Basically when he came up he was the promised future off the franchise. Its not that he's so bad but rather that he was supposed to be so much more. Also the way he just stands there after called 3rd strikes doesn't help.

Werth comes off the DL soon. I'm dreading what they do on that day. They'd have to be morons to send Coste down *cough* Hopefully they can trade Barajas for nothing. Heck I wouldn't mind if they trade Ruiz (we're supposed to have a good prospect at AAA right?)
