Hey guys, I haven't posted a hand for a year, I think, so let's hope this comes out correctly:
I had no real reads here, but the last few hands no amount of raising seemed to be slowing people from going into the pot. I guess, this is where I need to learn a little better. (One of the many places) It is hard for me to then bet 10BB (5+1 per limper, or whatever it was) with AQs. Is my raise overly aggressive here? I've been going over this hand in my head and there are 4-5 things I'm unsure about. Overall this is very typical of a hand I just don't think I play well and need some serious improvement on. All full ring stakes have only one thread and 6 handed has micro, small, medium and high?

The argument for raising more the more limpers there are is for isolation - you want to reduce the field so that you are only playing the flop against 1 or 2 opponents rather than 4, 5, 7, or whatever the number may be. When you are playing against many players, the likelihood that you have the best hand on the flop drops dramatically. Also, you can't really bluff or outplay that many opponents.
The usual tactic that people use is 4xBB + 1BB for every limper. AQ is good enough of a hand where you can raise that much and you don't have to worry about it being too much. Looking at the flop you got, if you were only playing against a couple of opponents, you very likely have the best hand, and the flop is much easier to play. Playing against many more opponents, who knows? You might be up against A4, AT, T4, 44, one or more flush draws - all kinds of stuff. Better to get the riff raff out of there...it makes playing the flop much less of a headache |

yes. i assume your saying you want to post it here b/c of the stakes. the fact that it's full ring matters more than the limit.

Oh...ok. I wasn't aware, thank you for the clarification, there.
Thanks, CmnCwnWrkn. Raising in LP with many participants is something I'm not good enough at doing. |

at these stakes i think you can get better advice in the full ring forum, at med/high stakes you should probably just post in the respective 6max tread.
