EDIT: I was beaten to this... sort of... making contact...

Is anyone prepared to take 10 online picks vs my 10 live picks for 5% of each in say... WPT tournaments. We need a way to get a starting list, then we can seed our players and match up however many are in for both teams.

This is going to be fun....

I think there's an excellent chance that Brian's bet is +EV. But that's mainly because I don't like Barry's 1st choice.

I bet Barry has a lot of confidence in his horse.

well i kind of already proposed this which is maybe what Mark is talking about when he says he was beaten to it, but I am considering how much I could potentially lose in this bet and whether or not I am comfortable with the 5% figure. I'd definitely need a cap. I have a feeling Mark won't have a ton of trouble getting action on his bet whether or not I take it though, it seems like a pretty fun bet.

I agree on the cap idea. I do not know who you are and obviously we will need to work something out so that I do / am comfortable making the bet with you. I was thinking 20k per event cap seems reasonable and no one can get too burnt.

And we could say it runs for 20 events minimum, buying out is 5k and swapping a player is $500.

Obviously this is a rough skeleton and I thought of it in the last 30 seconds so update as you see fit.

I read it as

Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that ZeeJustin wins
Barry pays brian 10% of any prize that Sorel wins

Brian pays barry 20% of any prize that Barry wins

i really shouldn't be running my mouth so much here, it is unlikely that i will take this bet for an amount high enough to get you very interested, just so you know. I'm not sure of my edge at all and i would be doing this almost entirely for entertainment. I will probably not be willing to lose more than a number somewhere around 15-20k for the entire bet.

As for being comfortable with making a bet with me, I'm not sure how to make that work either. I don't really have anyone credible to vouch for me, the only thing I could offer is proof that i have enough money to pay off the bet.

I do like the terms you posted though

I would be making the bet for fun too, but I think I would have small edge.

In fairness though, how many more live tournaments has Barry made the top 3 in vs. Imperium and ZJ? I think that was kinda the point of Barry's argument. Sorel is pretty new to the live scene, but does Justin have more than 3 or 4 top 3 finishes in live tournies?

Wow, a poker player in his fifties has more live tournament top-3 finishes than two twenty-one year olds? Get out.
