The majority of the Matrix entirely was CGI, not just the highway scene. I'm not here to diss on CGI -- when done well, it can look really good. When done poorly (um, anyone for 2 Fast 2 Furious?) it's so blatantly cheesy as to be laughable. But the reality is, anything CGI isn't really happening, so it's not a real chase at all. That doesn't mean it wasn't a decent scene in a movie (which it was), but no, it's not even a real car chase, so it can't even really be considered as one of the best car chase scenes. +1 on the original Gone in 60 Seconds, though. |
