First live tourney for ages and first post for ages.
$100 + 1 rebuy or add-on with 54 runners. We are at 11 players and i have about average 34k. Blinds 1k/2k no ante. Fold to me in SB with AdKd. I make it 8k to go. BB mini-raises another 6k (has me covered with around 50k). I have no real info on him. So do I just shove the rest in now or call and shove any flop? |

What size of stack does BB have?

Shove now, you use the Stop 'n Go to try to increase your fold equity. Here, you want him to call.

Just shove. Looks like a typical blind battle and I'd say your almost definitely ahead, at worst a flip. So lets give him a tough decision, instead of calling and risking the chance of him hitting.

So, for example, where the action is the same and I have something like 55 or QT?

55 I probably still shove PF. QT is a better option for a SNG. The only thing is, if you plan to Stop 'N Go someone PF then you can't chicken out on "bad" flops.
