When you're eating at a diner or something and a little asian chick (zomg, racism!) comes by and offers to sell you DVDs.
Seriously, did it look like the thing I really wanted most with my reuben was a poor quality, bootlegged DVD? |

Also the restaurant/bar owners who have no problem with their customers being harassed like this. I realise it takes only a few seconds to say 'no', but two or three of these guys disturbing you while eating or (far worse) watching some sporting event is really annoying. |

The kid isn't drowning just because his feet can't touch the floor, and that annoying toot is really turding up my relaxing sunbathe by the pool. [/ QUOTE ] Methinks there are deeper issues at hand here. |

Just thought of this on the way up from my smoke break because someone was yapping on their cell, but: Talking on the phone in elevators and the Bluetooth thingies attached to peoples ears. I don't know why but those things bug the [censored] out of me. [/ QUOTE ] This reminds me... people who take smoke breaks while non-smokers continue working all day. |

[/ QUOTE ] These are excellent. I really don't like this at all. Some places have cheesy guys trying to sell you flowers or charge you to take a picture, and lay a guilt trip on you if you don't buy. And I've even seen these guys return later once you've already said no. I'm convinced these guys get major joy out of busting balls. Which is exactly the wrong thing to make me ever want to come back to that restaurant again. |

Some smokers can stretch this into an hour or two off a day. |

[ QUOTE ] When I'm sitting alone in a restaurant (usually at lunch time) and people feel the need to come up and talk to you. I know they are just trying to be nice, but I enjoy my alone time and lunch is my little bit of alone time each day and they are ruining it for me. And of course I can't tell them to leave me alone cause then I look like a dick. Ugh I hate this. [/ QUOTE ] Does it bother you if friends come over and talk to you? Or just random people? How about people you kinda sorta know? [/ QUOTE ] I don't mind if my friends come over to talk to me. But random people and people I kind of know, especially people I kind of know because then I feel like I'm forced to make conversation with them, and to be honest I only like to talk to people if I have something important to say, I'm not a fan of small talk, but the main thing is that people seem to misinterpret me being alone as that I am a lonely, depressed human being who needs some company, when really I'm quite a happy human being with many friends who just likes to sit and eat a meal in peace and quiet from time to time *sigh* |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree, I was in the lunchroom @ work, rinsing out my coffee mug, some guy i've never spoken with walks by and says "hey man what's up?" i was the only one there, i turned around and said "hey, just chillin out, another day another dollar" or something to that effect. guy looks at me and points to his ear, tiny little bluetooth headset. and i was the one that felt like an ass, wtf? |

I'm always reading when I do this, and I value very much being able to use that time to catch up on what's going on in the world and maybe learn something new. And to stimulate my brain. Work is way too dull to stimulate my brain, and if I don't do something during the day to wake it up, I will be a complete zombie by the end of the day and leave work at the end of the day feeling unaccountably sad and unmotivated. Casual chat, on the other hand, I can do all day and at night too, if I wanted to. |
