would you really check a set on the turn with three to the straight out there. Still I check it back to him hoping to call a small river bet.

[ QUOTE ] Ok, I happened to call I have like 10.5k remaining after the flop it's an offsuit K he checks to me bet/check. [/ QUOTE ] I like your line pf, and I think I would call the smallish check/raise since you are in position, alot of hands he does this with you are beating, and I never trust anyone with blonde hair st the poker table (whether or not confirmed to be european). After he checks the turn it definitely smells like he is trying to check/raise you again, I'd check behind and likely fold to most bets over 2-2.5k on river unless black 7 falls, in which case I would flat. If he does in fact have something like Ah7h, yes you are giving him free draw but you are holding 2 of his outs and this early I think you need to control the pot size. Also, in the WSOP Main event there is so much dead money, I think you really need to be trying to make 5 card hands when you are in big pots. BeL0W [/ QUOTE ] pot control is key here. You know what river cards you want/don't want and he is still kinda guessing (or clueless). This is not a hand I want to play for all my money in the WSOP for those reasons. |

noah doesn't his turn check represent he doesn't have straight/set and is more likely on 1pair/draw himself? [/ QUOTE ] That's what makes this tempting. Given your image, your flop call can be a tad spooky, but I go with Below in that we're deep stacked in a large field of dead money and are looking for hands with bigger showdown value. Check behind for a 7. I'm wondering what we'd be willing to call if an 8d spikes on the river. What about an 8h? As for the flop, I don't see this flop anywhere near a must-CB flop. |

Check the turn 1000000% of the time for exactly the reasons noah said. I think people are tightening his flop range too much and am back to liking call flop, shove over turn bet line. Especially with a [censored] image there are a decent number of bluffs and lower pairs in his flop cr range.

I call flop but probably not put in more money unimproved. Check behind turn yo. I find live people dont play back at you as light as you think in these situations but I obv have a different table image than you most of the time.

Steve,
Why do you like calling flop and shoving over a turn bet? That makes no sense to me at all. |

Yeah I just check back turn. We would hate to get pushed off the straight draw here and I hate tossing more money in the pot here with a shaky hand like we have.
We can turn our hand into a bluff catcher on the river, too, and possibly with our image bet the river if a card like a 4 rolls off and get paid off by a lone lower pair. |

I call flop and bet the turn. There's tons of draws, many with overcards (we have no idea what's a good river but he does), your image is right for being called by 67/77/who knows what, seriously I think turn is a bet and it's not too close.

Steve, Why do you like calling flop and shoving over a turn bet? That makes no sense to me at all. [/ QUOTE ] Effective stacks are 12k right? So his turn bet is going to be like 4k when we have 9k. I think we're ahead more than enough given an awful image. People will bluff again here even though it's almost certainly terrible. Steve |
