Do any of the rooms host any razz games?

No one tries anything different in AC. Same nits playing two-way, a couple stud die-hards most have been there for years and everyone else is playing no-limit.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think someone posted the NJ gaming law a while back. It listed the poker games that are allowed in AC casinos. Don't know if razz, TD, pineapple, badugi, etc., were listed or not.
If there was a $3/6 or 4/8 crazy pineapple or HORSE game at Borgata it would be hugely popular. Just MHO.... |

Badugi, draw poker, and live straddles are definately illegal in NJ. I think razz as a stud variation is probably legal, but I am not sure.
In any case, razz is rarely included in mixed games in other US locations these says. Online, HORSE has become somewhat popular, and it includes razz. |

[/ QUOTE ] Correct, except live straddles were previously proven to be approved on a case by case basis when a casino submits it's operating manual to Casino Control. HOB allowed live straddles last time I was there (more than 1 year ago now) |

Lots of incorrect statements in this thread.
[ QUOTE ] 19:47-14.8 Types of permissible poker games (a) A casino licensee may offer the following types of poker games: 1. Seven-card stud (high, high-low split and high-low split eight or better); 2. Hold 'Em (high); 3. Omaha (high, high-low split eight or better); 4. Five-card draw (high and low); 5. Five-card stud (high); and 6. Mambo stud (high-low split six or better). (b) No casino licensee shall offer or permit the playing of any poker game in its casino room or casino simulcasting facility which is not authorized by this subchapter. As adopted, effective: 03/21/94 As amended, effective: 04/19/99 [/ QUOTE ] So, yes to 5 card draw. Yes to lowball, but 5CD only. No to Razz. WTF is Mambo? Stud variant: one down/one up/betting, one down/betting, community/betting, showdown. Hi-low split (6 or better for the low) using a 3 card hand with any of the four available; flushes and straights count for high only (true of every approved low game in AC). Anyone EVER seen this spread? |

I think it was a long-ago failed experiment by Taj that went up in flames. Which goes to show that it probably isn't too difficult to get a new game added to this list if a casino is serious about it.
