Did Chelsea get Alex? I can't find confirmation on their site, BBC or ESPN.

I think Chelsea bought Alex earlier this year. Link (rickroll)

Alex has been Chelsea's player for years. He's been on loan at PSV since 2005.

Why this then from the BBC Rumors page:

Chelsea have moved closer to completing deals for Lyon winger Florent Malouda and PSV Eindhoven's Brazilian defender Alex. (The Guardian)

if i recall correctly. there was a problem getting alex's work permit. but he is def owned by chelsea.

"Having been bought by the English Premier League club Chelsea in 2004"

"Alex has not been able to play for Chelsea due to his lack of caps for the Brazilian national football team. Work permit rules in England requires that a non-EU player must have played in 75% of his country's international games in the last two years. Until this issue is resolved, Alex's stay in the Netherlands seems likely. PSV Eindhoven have continually signalled their interest to sign the defender from Chelsea."

Sven-Goran Eriksson has been confirmed as Manchester City's new manager.

Give him 11 English players and he can't lose, amirite?

hahahaha. actually, I think that's a great hire for City. His club track record is excellent. Maybe he'll be able to turn city from relegation fodder to still being a lesser club then united

BBC says the Tevez/Man United thing is official.

And a sweet quote from Svenny G. in this news story:

"Did I really do so bad with England?" Eriksson asked.

Haven't seen this mentioned here. Apparently Real Madrid are prepared to pay 25 million euros for Fabregas and possibly include Baptista or some other player they don't want any more. Last week there were also rumors that Arsenal were asking for Robinho in trade.

I would be flat out shocked if Fabregas is sold. He has already been handed the captaincy at the arse and they are planning on rebuilding around him
