Yesterday I made my first ever trip to Quizno's. The turkey, bacon and guacamole sub is my new favorite food.
That is all. |

Wait til you've had Quizno's about 30 or 40 times. You'll never want to ingest the oily-cream sauce again.

I saw Die Hard 4 yesterday, it was an entertaining flick, tons of ridiculous explosions, and action scenes but overall I found it pretty enjoyable. I have to say the worst part was sitting in between my divorced father and mother for the entire movie. I really hate when I am around both of them at the same time. That and my mom talks more than a [censored] black woman at a movie theater. She was yelling at the screen telling John McClane to do things. (Some examples of my mothers interjected dialog - "Kill her McClane! Kill that bitch!") I guess she thinks she was providing some sort of inspirational support for the fictional character that couldn't hear her. [ QUOTE ] Suzzer99, When are you going to suck it up and start dating this chick? [/ QUOTE ] Well at this point the crush was mostly just physical attraction, although a few years ago I certainly wanted it to be something more serious. So one of the weird gamut of emotions was losing that feeling of wanting to get into her pants. Since I'm really not thinking long term with her and wanting to risk it. Along with some lingering stomach-churning over hearing someone you used to be in love with have a wild escapade. And some excitement - the story was pretty hot. I think there were some other emotions thrown into the stew as well, but those were the big 3. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like it is time for a horny gutwrenching puke session full of envy and malice. +EV |

In Ireland the new Die Hard is called Die Hard 4.0. Apparently it's still a little to soon over there to hear Live Free or Die Hard. [/ QUOTE ] i don't know this for a fact, but i presumed when i saw the title difference (i'm irish but was in vegas this week) that the reason was just that irish audiences would consider that a really lame title for a film. whats funny is that they got that far in their reasoning and then decided to call it die hard 4.0 instead! anyway,i don't think it has anything to do with politics over here. |

Black Cod Miso At Home!!! For those of you who love Black Cod Miso and live near a Mitsuwa Marketplace, I was able to purchase black cod, pre-marinated, at the Saratoga location yesterday! Take it home, distribute the marinade a little more evenly with a butter knife, and throw the fish under the broiler until a light crust starts to form on top. I didn't really time it, just keep an eye on it. Delicious! The marinated black cod was to the left of the sashimi-grade fish, and flats with one large piece or two small pieces were about 2.50 - 3.00 each. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the heads up OT - just went to Mitsuwa today (the one in Little Tokyo, LA) and picked up several 4-6 ounce fillets. They were about $4 each, which seems reasonable for black cod. The glaze is pretty tasty, I threw some scallions, bit of minced ginger and garlic on the fish at tail end of broiling (~8 minutes total for my oven). Placed the broiled fish on top of sauteed pea shoots. Black cod turned out really well - no discernible difference from this and eating at the many places I've ordered it. Oh... and if someone could clear up the Alaska black cod / sablefish / butterfish nomenclature thing, that would be great. -Al |

This is my favorite forum on the internet. I have learned so much from you guys. Found some cool recipes, bought some great books and even though I am a lurker most of the time El D's forum has been my home page since its inception. I hope to be part of the family and read these great threads for a long time to come.
Oh yeah I've also lost 25 pounds too. Diomed |
