[ QUOTE ] on a drawy board? his turn bet is logical (whether he has a made hand or draw). you expect him to check? [/ QUOTE ] whats the point fo making a small bet which forces all weak hands which you are ahead of to folds or bluff and give all proper draws odds to call? [/ QUOTE ] Either it's bad/pointless, or he's giving you a chance to bluff. Either way, this guy seems like he's probably a poor choice to bluff in the future. |

[/ QUOTE ] whats the point fo making a small bet which forces all weak hands which you are ahead of to folds and give all proper draws odds to call? [/ QUOTE ] i'm not saying his bet is correct, i'm saying it's logical (logical in his mind - like, "my hand/draw is good so i'll bet a little" kind of logic). btw, when you push, what are you representing? a boat doesn't push the turn. if you had a straight or a set on the flop multiway on a super drawy flop, he might think you would raise (assuming he thinks at all, which he probably doesn't). you could have A5 or 56, but all he sees is that no flush hit and that there are no aces or kings on the board. |

just because i make a mistake and shove there sometimes doesnt mean its a good play, does it? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe not, but I don't think it's terrible (except maybe for metagame reasons, if that small bet signifies middle of the road hands.) What do you think is a better line for him with JJ there? He can play straight protection if he wants but he's likely giving up healthy value then and possibly pricing himself in if better hands are going to shove anyway. The line he takes - or maybe a c/c type approach - is one of the few ways to get value from worse hands at that point. In the end, whether he is an idiot or savvy, it seems like your bluff is probably the bigger error there. I tend to have the same problem of choosing grotesquely inappropriate people/moments to run big bluffs on, so I sympathize. |
