As long as they start leaving you alone now i'd take that over worrying about them liking you.

Places like this exist somewhere in Connecticut. My parents live in the same town without much incident. Same with my sister. I lived with her for a while and no probs ever with the neighbors.

I would just ignore it, now maybe these nuts will leave you alone. [/ QUOTE ] QFT, and if anyone says anything tell them to mind their [censored] business and leave you the [censored] alone. With f-bombs where 2+2 censored it. If it was me, at 8 am (healthy or not, wtf that's too early) and some lady was banging on my door I would've told her to go home and shut the door in her face. Any screen door is an invitation for them? [censored] that. Tell them to stay the [censored] off of your property. I have had similar experiences and it drives me insane. I had a fat, ugly girl come over (when I lived in a large apartment complex) at 2 am knocking on my door asking for cigarettes... wtf? I stood in the door smoking and told her straight-faced that I didn't smoke, bye and slammed the door. Some other retard asked me if I had tape. WTF? No I don't have tape, go [censored] yourself. This hits home with me. Don't do anything to apologize. Just ignore them. If they come over again, tell them to stop coming over because you want them to leave you alone. That is insanely intrusive, looking in your windows wtf? I'd call the cops and have them go talk to those nosy [censored]. GL I empathize. |

I can't help but think that you are surprisingly antisocial...some neighbors come over to say hi to the person who just moved in and your first moves are to basically alienate every single one of them. I'm not saying they're perfect, and yeah 8 AM is too early for a visit, but DAMN.
Then again, this is 2+2. |

[/ QUOTE ] Did your parents come up with your and your sisters home down payments, because I'm still trying to figure out how a single person affords a house of the size that would make people ask "How can you afford this house by yourself?"? Does this town start with a Stamford, cuz that place is just filled with crazy rich people? |

Sidetrack with my own question:
As a kid growing up in middle class suburb, we hardly ever even talked to our neighbors. We would be friendly and say hi when passing, we would chat outside for a few minutes every once in awhile, and maybe walk/feed pets when someone went on vacation. I'd get together with other neighborhood kids and we'd play kickball or tag. But other than that, we kept to ourselves mainly. WTF is with these crazy people in OP? Are neighbors like that common? |

I had been up all night, sick (you don't want details here) and ended up falling asleep after 6am. [/ QUOTE ] also, incidentally, I was somewhat curious about the details. was there explosive diarrhea involved? |

I really, really love that you stood in the door smoking and said you don't smoke. I actually wanted to call the cops when they looked in my windows, but good neighbors didn't want to get involved. They were the ones who saw it, and I didn't want to cause probs for them. I didn't tell them why she really came over either, no point in making the separation worse for them. I just said, "you know thats not the real story right" and she said "of course".
