Yes and no. Obviously the second deposit is collectible. However that would really defeat the purpose of the policy if they just allowed anyone who won to redo the deposit since they still couldn't collect from anyone who lost. Clearly they view it as two seperate deposits in that case...one uncollectible and one collectible.

Really as bwana said they shouldn't allow uncleared funds into play. It's just a better policy IMO.

Custer,

Thank you for your input.

To those who question my integrity, I can only say, I have better ways to spend my time than making up fairy tales and posting them on a message board.

I told Bodog if they didn't give me my winnings back, I was going to go to every message board I could find and disclose their horrid tactics.

They would rather take back a measly 500 hundred dollars which is pennies to them than keep a customer happy and make more money off the customer in the long run. Terrible business practice which eventually will lead to their downfall.

Degen,

Where would you recommend I expose this tactic? Ofcourse this is my first time on this site as well as other gambling message boards. Bodog's theivery got me so mad, I swore I would expose their piracy.

I can respect those who commented that it was my error and that there was no deposit and therefore no winnings as this is their opinion. But just because I am new to this site means I have no credibility?

I said they need to make it more up front, like on the actual deposit page where the user is entering his bank account info. He needs to see this text displayed prominently so he can make very certain his information is correct.

They should also adopt a "enter it twice for verification" type system, like with passwords at most sites.

This would eliminate people who accidentally screw up like the OP and also still allow Bodog to prevent retards from trying to steal money.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would agree with this.

I started off thinking that the OP was being ripped off by BO, but once I thought about it I realised they couldn't have an "it depends" policy on something like this.

If you enter the wrong bank account number it's wrong whether it's the last number missing or every number made up, and, as others have said, whether the OP is innocent or guilty in intent, it would make it far too easy for the scammer to try it on if there was an "it depends" policy.

Sadly, therefore, I have to see BO's point; even though, in this particular case, I believe the OP is innocent. (Why would he bother to tell us about this otherwise?)

On the other hand, if I ran BO, I would give Accounts Managers some outside-the-boundaries leeway to allow "deals" to be made when they thought there might have been legitimate mistakes made in some specific similar cases.

Finally, from a basic PR pov, it would be good, in the few cases where obvious or likely guilt of a scam was decided, if the money "confiscated" was returned to the losers of pots, rather than simply scooped into BO's coffers. Then they might have a few people coming forward in situations like these to say, "I was that man - they gave me $30 because they told me the pot-winner had had his hand over-ruled for an undisclosed reason!" Positive comment such as that does so much good for a site I am constantly surprised why the Poker Managers aren't on here all the time telling us how they have resolved cases to the benefit of the "cheated" players.

I for one wasn't questioning the validity of your story. Honestly if someone was going to try to pull a scam such as this they wouldn't bother with a measley $100 deposit. And as I said below I agree that their policy isn't the best. At the same time it is your own fault and rather than waste time ripping a site on every message board you should try to take some accountability yourself. If you lost the $100 on the tables I highly doubt you would have an issue with their policy. Just take an extra minute next time to input the correct information. It's not really that difficult.

Like I said, I never tried to withdrawl any of the winnings. I just wanted to play holdem NL and try and run up my winnings further before cashing out some profit. If I was trying to scam them, would it make sense that I left the winnings in the account or at least attempt to withdraw them?

The fact of the matter is, no one could scam them and get the winnings out because if their checking account was fraudulent, they would never release the funds.

I made an honest mistake and got treated like dirt.
At least Bodog should refund my winnings to the players who lost their money to me. That would be the legitimate thing to do if they are going to penalize me by being thieves.

They also state on their site that at bodog's sole descretion the funds may or may not be kept by Bodog.

Fine print and how many people read these TERMS?

Thank you StellarWind!

I know I have no recourse with this out of country company but I am just happy to disclose their tactics to as many who will read my story.

Chief444,

Have you never made an error in your entire life when writing a paper or filling out a form? Yeah it was dumb on my part but the way I see it is that no human is perfect and we all make mistakes. I have yet to meet one person who has never made a mistake.
Our maker is the only exception.
