Default Re: Most efficient method of becoming proficient in HU?

[ QUOTE ]
How big of a buyin and what sort of players will be playing in this MTT?

Live pros? Online pros?

If you're going to be facing good competition (probably unlikely given what we've seen at most HU MTTs) I would suggest playing some good 2+2ers in HUSNG for practice.

And definitely play HUSNG, as that is likely the closest format to what you are going to play, if not exact (minus the live aspect).

The Buy in is $1000 +100 AUD (Is this commision horrible? Most commisions are 15 - 35% so this is actually good in comparision), I'm really not sure of what type of players to expect. Overall the play I've seen in the Casino is pretty bad, even at the highest NL Games they have there. 1/2 NL is my main online game and I think a solid online $25 NL could beat those games. But I guess some of the better players from around OZ could come so it may be better.

I'm not sure whether they will be live or online pro's, given the rake structure I doubt there are any real live 'pros'...

I'm really interested to hear any sort of trip reports play might have from the OZ millions HU event or comments on the standard of play.

I'd love to play some good 2p2ers, it's too late to join the league right? and I'm considering coaching a week or 2 before the event (Still waiting on the structure to be released before I definitely commit to playing). PM me offers or provide a link if there is one pls for HU coaches.

For anyone interested here is what the tourney Brochure reads.

'Heads Up Event
In the Heads Up event, a maximum of 64 players will be drawn into pools and play a match against each opponent within their pool, gaining a point for each victory. The player with the most points from each pool will progress to the Finals which will a best-of-three format.'
