[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] How come y'all are like teflon for preposterous sterotypes? [/ QUOTE ] G street, I don't think you're as smart as you think your are, but then again, i'm not sure how smart you think are. [/ QUOTE ] Don't worry mang I saw that thread, didn't read it, don't care. I would explain myself but I think you Know where I'm coming from... I'll indulge you since you seem like a good dude from what I've read. I saw a couple good questions the rest have been [censored], Questions to a sub group (rednecks) of the white population is not equal to questions to a black man, unless you count men as a sub group. Can you see where I'm going w/ this. Also stereotyping 'Rednecks'or "poor white trash" or whatever is just as insensitive as any of the dumber posts I've seen today...do you see where I'm going with that. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I can dig it. That was just my roundabout way of saying there are a toooonnn of stereotypes that stick to whites in general, and different subsets of whites. |

[ QUOTE ] BEAT : I actually grew up in the french part of Canada. [/ QUOTE ] Ah ben là wô les moteurs je le prends pas. Where did you grow up exactly? I had an Haïtian friend in school who's mother was very religious, i.e. no TV at home, very clean clothes(no jeans for example), very strict, etc, I thought it sucked and was sorry a little for him. Good fella. What's your take on the Haïti situation? Is it improving or will it eventually in your opinion? [/ QUOTE ] Montréal, dans le quartier de St-Léonard. On est déméagé en Outaouais quand j'avais a peu près 5 ans. It wasn't that strict at my place, we just certain rules to follow. Our parents pretty much trusted us though. Haiti, ugh. To be honest, I don't think it's ever going to be better. I think Western Civilazation will make Haiti pay for being the first black country to win their independance. It's going to be coup d’état after coup d’état to keep this country in the hole that it is in. |

[ QUOTE ] really? I'm not very serious except for the last part about the "N word". [/ QUOTE ] I have a problem whenever anyone uses any type of racial slurs - and you do too. But why the F do you guys call each other N's casually all the time? Just confuses me. [/ QUOTE ] Black folks that want do and will continue, and actually that doesn't bother me, but I try not to anymore. I say anymore because for a long time I did, but as I get older I realize just because I grew up doing it doesn't mean my niece and younger cousins should. it is hurtful particularly from those that do not understand what it's like to be on the business end of such a word, that's why it will never be ok in most black peoples eyes for someone who is not Black or of Color to use it. I think there's validity to the argument that it has become a term of endearment amongst a lot of black folks, turning a negative into a positive, but other questions of self worth related to this issue persist. It is offensive to a lot of people to think that some child who has not walked even a foot in the most pampered black persons shoes thinks they can just hop on the band wagon, with no understanding of the past, because the really love fiddy. this is just my opinion and I am not qualified to answer for all black people. I'll send Al Sharpton this way next time I see him |

[ QUOTE ] Srsrly, how srs are you? I can't tell which parts are joking and which are not. [/ QUOTE ] really? I'm not very serious except for the last part about the "N word". Just a demonstration of how annoying these ask a black Guy situations can be... all the stuff before that are things I've heard from other people of color that spark a very similar convo about white stereotypes where I'm from. Dig the turn around, stupidity and ignorance are the same everywhere. I mean there's like 12 pages of nearly nothing...which I contributed to. ![]() Did a little more explaining than I normally would but there are a couple of you who seem pretty cool and aren't getting my point( which I have not plainly stated in an effort to amuse myself). and if G A says so you get a pass in my book. [/ QUOTE ] Again I can dig it. This whole thread is tongue-in-cheek as well as the questions being asked, though it takes a dozen or so posts for it to sink in. At least, if you know the senses of humor of the posters you can tell. It took me a second. The jury is still out on iPot, even. Can't tell with that one. I wasn't sure if you were genuinely upset, or playing back at it, or a combination of the two. |
