Ryan Leaf > Peyton Manning
Marvin Williams > Andrew Bogut
Was really upset when the Bucks drafted unknown Dirk Nowitzki in the NBA Draft...we then traded him for Robert "Tractor" Traylor and I was ok with that...
I did think Ron Dayne would be a bust.
I think the same thing about PJ Hill Jr.
I think Joe Thomas will be a HOF'er one day.
I think Oden will be better than Durant...but I think both will have significant NBA Careers.
I think the Chinese guy Yi Jiangian(sp?) will be an all-star.
I think Joakim Noah, Al Horford and Corey Brewer will all be busts. If anyone makes it, it will be Horford.

Friend of mine was a huge Colorado fan and thought this guy would be the next Walter Payton. He had me convinced also.

I was the exact opposite. I was excited when we drafted Nowitzki and ready to swear off the Bucks for life when we traded for Traylor. I thought Traylor was the most guaranteed to bust player of all-time.

Carmelo Anthony is actually a pretty rare player, he can really only play the 3.

[/ QUOTE ]

Have you ever actually seen Carmelo play (other than Sportscenter highlights)? Melo logs significant minutes at the 2 and the 4, and does very well in both these roles.

Yeah Traylor was an easy call.

I made the same mistake as you with Keith Van Horn. I thought he was going to be a superstar. He still had a solid career though.

I also thought Camby was going to be a dominant big man on both ends.

Definitely Van Horn for me. I watched him a lot when he was playing college ball and I thought he was going be great.

Also, even though I went to UCLA at the same time he was there, I'd say Baron Davis. I thought he'd be decent, but I didn't think he'd be this awesome.

I thought Casey Jacobson could be a great outside shooter in the NBA...maybe a Dan Majerle-esque player. The guy is barely averaging 2 threes attempted per game. He is shooting at a pretty good percentage though. What's up with that? Is he just not finding a team that will let him play that role or is he not serviceable enough outside 3-point shooting to get the minutes? I haven't seen him play much NBA ball, just going off stats.

I think I'll be right about Redick...he's going to be nothing special. He may hang around the NBA for awhile, but I think his game is much better suited to NCAA.
