This is the most ridiculous thing this team has ever done given the talent on the roster right now since they lost 7 in a row back in Semptember of 1999. I am so disgusted.

Baseball is such a funny game. In June the Braves are -15 in run differential and both the Phillies and Mets are -16!
But the Braves are 5-6, the Mets are 2-8 and the Phillies are 7-4. |

Doesn't help that Braves are -17 when Cormier starts (outscored 19-2 in those games).
Likewise, Philly has two clunkers in a 13-0 loss and a 8-1 loss vs SF and a 17-5 loss vs KC. Meanwhile the Mets really only have 1 pounding to the hands of the Tigers which was 15-7. Mets have lost a lot more close games while the Phillies and Braves have more wins but each has 3 "bad beats." |

kbfc, plz break schoenwuss's legs, kthxbai [/ QUOTE ] I tried, I swear. I thought I got him, too. Apparently he's got a body double on hire just to receive his beatings. When the REAL SS trotted out last night, I realized that I had been had. Anyway, I'll try to do better tonight. I saw 5 or 6 Mets games last year, including the NLDS, but this will be my first look at John Maine in person. It might not have shown in the box score or on TV, but DW was crushing the ball last night. His late strikeout AB was terrible, but all of his other outs were balls that were creamed, just unfortunately right at people. He looks really good in the box right now. Delgado and Beltran on the other hand.....god, wtf is going on here? |

Mets are the absolute class of the National League. Their starting pitching is clearly the best in the NL East. John Maine is a Cy Young Contender. Delgado is up for a Silver Slugger Award and Beltran is an MVP canidate. Mets should run away with the division by 20 games at least.

I'm not worried. Nevermind that I just got back from the 2nd straight night of witnessing the worst team in the majors (except for David Wright, who is Jesus, but with speed on the basepaths). I'm fully confident that our Ace in the Hole, Jorge Sosa, is going to come in and dominate so thoroughly tomorrow that the Mets are granted 3 wins for the game, thereby taking the series.
Look for me. I'll be the one in the third row on the first base line with a gun to my mouth as Willie calls for yet another retarded bunt. |

I didn't watch last night, but a friend told me Kuo flipped his bat like he was a big time slugger getting a walk off after hitting that home run in the 2nd inning and the Mets didn't retaliate?
That makes me more angry then them losing. Maine should have plunked Furcal right after that. A small altercation (or even a big one) might just be what the Mets need to wake themselves up out of this funk and they didn't take advantage. Blah! |
