Indiana,

Kid immersed himself in a lifestyle and was friends w/ a number of people who did very shady things. Probably in large part due to that, he ended up taking some very unethical actions purely due to greed. We have no idea how far his cheating went, but it would be very naive to think that it stopped at multi-accounting MTTs. His life is far from ruined. He's a healthy young white kid in LA with more money than most anyone his age. This incident is a chance for him to reevaulate some of his priorities in life and consider what kind of person he wants to be. Perhaps we'll see a new statement from him once he gives this some thought, or maybe he's too far down the path of a criminal life. I hope not, though. Far from ruining his life, this could be the best thing that ever happens to him. As for the action from poker sites, all I'll do is commend Party for taking a harsh stance against cheaters and request Stars take a stance to make their site a less profitable place for cheaters to play.

[/ QUOTE ]

FWIW - I agree with all of this, especially that this may end up being the best thing that ever happened to him. And I think this is the correct approach to take to his situation.

I'm still awaiting a response on this!

I thought it was reasonably clear he meant ZJ. Perhaps he was talking about himself, but it seems unlikely.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think so. Especially considering ZJ was a relatively active member of 2+2, with MTT being one of his main forums.

The guy is a cheat who got busted and has this has pissed off many people who care about the integrity of the online game. If I ever caught anyone cheating in my live games I'd kick their ass hard. This muppet ZJ deserves everything he gets - has he put anything on his blog about this? Perhaps he should update the site with an article 'Win $140K like me - Cheat!'.

well said.

i've only read about 6 of these posts in this thread and am sick of reading it already. this is just pure and simple a waste of all of our time. this has been discussed to no end and the bottom line was HE WAS WRONG FOR WHAT HE DID AND THE PUNISHMENT FIT THE CRIME (if nothing else he got off easy, if this was B&M casino he would be in jail for cheating). He violated the T&C, how can you argue that? The OP's motive are definitely in question IMO.

I will not be reading any more of this post, because i've already wasted 8 minutes with it as it is.

he'll be forgiven or forgotten in time. You on the other hand, Indiana, with your lock on the Morales vs. Pacman fight are not forgiven yet. Uhhh cost me some $$$ LOL if I run into you I'll buy you a beer after kicking you in the nuts.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just be happy I pulled back and didn't post my Mosley/Vargas over bet before the fight. I saved you some $$ there.

There are many pros on this site, and I guarantee you that not one will share your point of view, unless he is guilty of the same thing ZJ is.

and many non-pros that agree with this

OP clearly has no concept of "justice", "ethics", "responsibility", etc. His outlook must be incredibly naive to not understand that there are actions which serve the expedience of institutions and society and that, aside from the basic social contract of the society in which we choose to live, we have a *CHOICE* of which codes we will willingly enter into and obey. ZeeJustin made a *CHOICE* to download PartyPoker, etc. He made a *CHOICE* to click "I agree" to their terms and conditions. If PartyPoker does not enforce these rules then PartyPoker will cease to exist and we, the vast majority of players who are honest and forthright in our activities, all lose something. This is the plain fact of the situation. Your nihilism is actually oppressive in the attitudes expressed here, for it(unwittingly perhaps) would have the effect of undermining our enjoyment of and participation in the mutual pastime here, poker. Worse yet, applied to other areas of life, your attitude could undermine the entire progress of civilization as we know it, as laws and morals are what allow our civilizations to function in the first place.

Indy, I love your work on the STT board, but I just cant see where you are coming from here. It is all about responsibility.

ZJ admits he played multi-accounts, including having more than one seat at a single table.
ZJ exploited this edge in MTTs to cash big money prizes.
The punishment of forfieture of the cash prize and banning from the system are appropriate penalties for this level of cheating.

You preach mercy and I agree that mercy is appropriate, but one must take responsiblity for ones actions, and where punishment is meted out, one must accept the punishment.

I would not personally malign ZJ, the person, I would simply not allow someone who cheats in this way to get a 'free pass' to continue doing it.

Todd
