Just to clarify, is this thread about relatively unknown songs to check out or just anything in general? Seeing replies with international megahits like Free Bird and Yesterday just make me think, "Yeah, no [censored]."

Some really good ones in this thread.
Most definitely Adagio for Strings. This Must Be the Place (stop making sense version) is my favorite song ever, amazing music and lyrics. (debaser and deceptecon rule too)

[/ QUOTE ] I don't have the answer, but since I'm the one that mentioned "Yesterday", I can back it up by saying I think it's one of the best melodies ever written and warrants inclusion on this list. If the thread is about unknown songs/compositions then I'd remove it, but this thread would probably be less fun and full of songs that a lot of people: 1 - would still know even if you think it's a secret 2 - would not know but think is sh*t music With that said, I would love to be introduced to a great song that I've never heard. nyc

Just discovered: Queen Bee by Taj Mahal. Puts me in mind of Into the Mystic and Tupelo Honey by Van Morrison, which should also make the list.

Ne me quitte pas My Baby Just Cares for Me House of the Rising Sun Sinnerman I Put a Spell on You also she has great versions of "Lilac Wine" and "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" in short, you shouldn't really live without some Nina Simone
