Vegas has lots of card rooms and competition among them is good for players

Only a few rooms spreads mid-high limit poker on a consistent basis.

"WTF does TT's opinion on that subject have to do with him modding this forum?"

Nothing. I'm a Retard.

Modding has got to be a pain in the neck. And I sure did not help anything with my stupid comment. Sorry TT. Sorry everyone.

Rock on 2+2!

I'm out the door to Bellagio right now.

Best Wishes

Right, but a few is a lot more than one. Ultimately everyone votes with their feet and goes where the games are best. There's nothing written in stone that says the Bellagio, the Wynn or anywhere else should be the default home of any one game.

Or is every poker room in Vegas being run by people with extremely poor business sense?

I've watched many of these Bellagio argument threads in the last few years and have always held my tongue. I only go to Vegas three times a year, but I have never had a problem at the Bellagio with poor attitudes from personnel. Granted, I currently play the 60 or 100 games, but even when I used to play the 15-30 game I've just never had a problem. I know my sample size is small, but I go for at least a week on every trip. The bottom line is the action AND the management (at least in pure technical terms) is SO far above and beyond any other room spreading mid-high limits that it really surprises me that people are still discussing this.

I realize that a local's perspective is different, but perhaps the locals need to realize that their attitudes are different as well. Why be a nit and have a sense of entitlement? You're in a room with the best action in town. Who cares if you don't get a sandwich? Btw, try tipping next time you get your comp, you might see them be a little more forthcoming next time. Hell, you might even get two.

I guess this is nice to hear. I play low limit and always had the feeling that they really didn't care about my business. Not a gripe, really, I just found different places to stay and play (most recently MGM/Signature).

I suppose I'll give the room a try again.

hey guys that play low limits....the people let go didnt work the low limt areas, so whatever jerkoffs you are dealing with are still there.

A rumor was spreading the other day in Bally's that Bellagio was going to drop their low limit stuff. No more 4/8, probably no 8/16, and no NL2/5. They would have NL5/10 and 15/30 as their entry level games.

FWIW, whenever I have played 15-30 & above there, I have had no issues with the floor/brush. Low-limit however, they often act like they are doing you a favor to even talk to you, FME.

Bingo. I always used to play $4-8 and $8-16 at Bellagio due to the drinks and the overall environment as well as decent action and a constant influx of new players. So for quite a few years this was the main poker I played in Vegas. I always thought the floor was intentionally mean. The two floormen in particular where that fat f--k Tim and the douche white guy with the moustache. It usually took about 15 minutes to get either of those jerks to even acknowledge me. Meh.

Once I started playing $15-30...well Bellagio people do not kiss customer ass, but at least they would ask me what game I wanted to play and treat me as a human being.

BTW, my alternatives to this game where the $10-20 at Mirage, which I played in whenever it was going. Contrary to popular opinion, its quite a decent game. Or my other alternative was to sit at a tighter, nittier $15-30 at Wynn and listed to the players gripe about how sh--ty they get treated at Bellagio

So the short of it is, I think the poor treatment of low level players at B may have had more to do with the people assigned to that section than with some overall policy or attitude.

And I'm guessing everyone knows who I hope got canned.

It wouldn't surprise me that the B didn't want to offer low limit games. The one time I tried to play there, they didn't even get to treat me like crap. There was a long line of players trying to get on lists for low limits and although the brush was standing there nothing was happening. I now have no desire to play at the B at all. I may give them another shot, but I won't recommend the room to anybody.

Given that low limit poker doesn't really bring in the customers that the B really caters to, why should they offer 4/8? There aren't to many $25 craps players in a 4/8 game. 15/30 seems like a reasonable entry game at the B if you want to maximize the number of high value pit players.

I didn't quiz the guy to try to verify the origins of this rumor or how likely it was to be true. 'Twas just a random comment one of the regulars made to me.

Seemed like an odd thing for them to do, but I could see it happening. Perhaps just a business decision balancing the need for more space for the poker room, which will take from other more valuable games in the casino, and giving up on the baby limits. Can't imagine they enjoy having 8 tables of 4/8 going when the room is absolutely full and they have a list of 30 names waiting for real games. If the poker room is lobbying for more space and being told "no way", nuking the little games might be a good choice.
