[ QUOTE ]
If they can shut down Lebron, why didn't they last year? Cleveland is running out what appears to be a pretty similar squad, Detroit won 12 fewer games. There won't be any 5 game series' after the first round in the East, the top 4 teams are all pretty close to each other. People seem to have the impression that Detroit was dominant this season, they only won 6 more games than the Raptors. [/ QUOTE ]Detroit was a much better team after the Webber trade. In fact, the only team that really seemed to be able to compete with them after that trade was a healthy Wizards team, who for whatever reason always played well against the Pistons. |

6 games is the difference between Toronto and NJ and NJ is the trendy first round upset pick.

someone please give me odds on East vs West. I'm not saying that the East is more than 50% to win, but the way some of you are talking, I'm thinking I should be able to get some 10:1 odds.
Gimme your odds, folks. I'm ready to bet. |

I'll take the Suns over the Spurs. I don't think this edition of the Spurs can beat a good team in a seven game series. [/ QUOTE ] The Spurs own the Suns though..... |

ESPN is asking all their experts assorted questions about the playoffs. First round upset, championship dark horse, etc. One is "Breakout star" Jim O'Brien picks Chris Bosh. That's kind of silly, he's widely regarded as a star among basketball fans, but he does play in Toronto so maybe casual fans don't know about him. Scoop Jackson picks LEBRON JAMES. Scoop Jackson, you're the stupidest person in the entire world. Also, only Hollinger picked the Bulls over the Heat. What the [censored] do the Bulls have to do to get respect? Apparently winning 49 games wasn't enough. [/ QUOTE ] ESPN and EXPERTS are pretty close to the biggest oxymoron you can get. |

[/ QUOTE ] way to go out on a limb and go against what EVERYONE is thinking [/ QUOTE ] The first post had them going to 7 games. I was one of the first people to post it, I didn't know that it's common knowledge. Way to find an excuse to berate a random poster. |

surprised this hasn't been bumped during the games...
Anyone else impressed with Thabo Shef...eh I can't spell his name, but that rookie from Chi thats guarding Wade. Very long and athletic on D. Lot of mistakes in the first half, but still very interesting and fun to watch. |

ESPN is asking all their experts assorted questions about the playoffs. First round upset, championship dark horse, etc. [/ QUOTE ] Apparently ESPN "experts" can't even be trusted to know what championship dark horse IS...because two of them picked PHOENIX in that category. I don't think you can call the team who finished with the 2nd-best record in a league of 30 a "dark horse" without real sports people laughing at you. |
