Uhh.. how else would you expect FTP to handle this? If they simply reversed this transaction if the "mistyped" player disagrees, FTP would become a haven for trade scamming.

You send me $X on Stars, I send you $X on FTP, then I write FTP and say it was a typo, they refund my money - you get hosed. They know nothing of our agreement or any transfers on Stars.

This is a much worse situation than what's happened to you. You made a pretty serious error, and the other person involved (who has not made any errors) gets to decide to do the right thing or not. No real other way this could work between strangers on a "corporate policy" type level.

I do think FTP should have more security with regards to transfers, possibly an e-mail confirmation requirement (ie: I try and send you money, it makes me respond to an automated e-mail to confirm). Also, just making you enter the full name of the recipient would basically eliminate these kinda situations. At the very minimum, a confirmation screen within the client.

The point is, when it takes 5 minutes to program, why don't they have a confirm feature?

1 month later the person he tranferred it to will cheat or chip-dump with that monney and Webster will have the rest of his funds frozen and then confiscated because he was 'associated' with him.

Ug, yes OP is responsible for this, but FT should carry some of the blame. 5 minutes is an exaggeration, 1.5 man hours, including QA, adding info to release notes, etc is probably about how long a confirm window would take to add. If people are really on the ball it should take a bit less as this is trivial. Seems like the other major sites either already have it, require real name, etc -- there is a reason for this. A confirm step could very well avert some of these problems and is totaly standard. FT needs to step up. Given the problems they are currently experiencing, the time is probably better spent on other issues but this should have been there in the beginning. Someone dropped the ball.
