Default Road Trip?

Me and my buddies are thinking of going on a road trip to Las Vegas during the WSOP heres our options

1) Free Rental and drive from Miami FL Average speed of 90mph non-stop 4 drivers we will get to vegas in 28 hours

It will cost us $160 per person in gas

2) fly to vegas it will cost $305 and we will get to vegas in 5 hours

Now we're thinking the idea of a road trip to vegas sounds like fun but maybe we're wrong. What do you think is the better choice and why?

No. A road trip to Vegas doesn't sound fun at all.

Average speed 90mp? You're on the road for over a day...you're gonna hit rush hour traffic ATLEAST 2 times. That'll put you at about 20mph. You're gonna hit construction zones... 45mph. You're gonna come to a COMPLETE STOP for food and gas every 5 or so hours. 0mph. Most of your driving will need to be done at 120mph just to "average" 90mph. Good luck.

It will cost us $160 per person in gas

You sure? How'd you figure that? Gas prices vary accross the country. You know what kind of car you're going to be driving? Whatever the EPA estimates the highway gas mileage to be, you gonna get about 5-7 mpg less doing 90mph than doing 65mph.

Jesus christ. Stop raining on his parade. Road trips are awesome, do it. Plan on about 38 hours to get to vegas though. And win so you won't end up needing to bury someone at some point on th ride home.

Dude, if you plan out where you'll hit the major cities, it can be done. I made it from Virginia to Utah in 28 hours or so driving time just by planning that [censored] out. And a lot of caffeine. I didn't average 90 mph. Get a radar detector if you're that stupid.
