After I discovered his novels (~2001, when I was 21 years old), I would stay up all night at times reading them (I think I have read all but 1 of them). Very few authors are able to hold my attention for so long.

I was disappointed with his later works, but he was getting old and his writing reflected that.

maybe an amusing anecdote. He was on my friend's book show, and signed one of his books like that, but he also wrote "will you be my friend?" and left his phone number. What a lovely man he was. The world will miss him.

Yeh, Cormac McCarthy can definitely be put in the same category as Kurt. Stephen King? Perhaps you're leveling.
