I'm going to add Antonius and Booth to my list of HSP favorites. They both showed gamble and Antonius especially showed that he has a built in bullsh&t detector.
I'm liking Esfandiari more and more. He is another player with gamble and has great reads. he's also funny and entertaining - 2 things that HSP needs and that counterbalances Antonius and Booth's stoic personalities. I'm thinking an interesting HSP table would be: Antonius Booth Esfandiari Doyle Barry Ted Forrest and of course Mike the Mouth so that we could watch the other stick it in and out of him all season. |

[ QUOTE ] what exactly was the action in this benyamine/antonio hand?? [/ QUOTE ] Benyamine pops it pf, bets flop, which Antonio floats. On the turn I forget the pot size, but Benyamine bets 18k, Antonio pops to 42k, Benyamine repops to 72k, then Antonio raises 40k more. Benyamine calls, river goes check check. [/ QUOTE ] Am I the only one who thought Benyamine reeked of strength there? I'm a little surprised Antonio didn't muck when Benyamine led out on the turn. He's been playing so good too, it's a shame to see him misplay that hand there and lose a huge pot. On another note, I was hoping someone could explain High Stakes math to me. Late in the episode, Antonius (6/3 clubs)and Ivey (Ace/7) tango in a hand. The flop is 9-7-2 w/ 2 spades. The turn is an Ace, giving Ivey aces up. Isn't Antonius drawing dead here? I'm watching the episode again now (I DVRed it) and they say Antonius is 18% to win. I don't get the math. All in all, a decent season from HSP, I can't wait for the next one! |

BTW if there ever was a river card to follow up by putting Benyamine all in, that was it, wasn't it? [/ QUOTE ] not after his turn play. had he just called benyamine's 3-bet, then possibly yes. in fact he must have hated that card because it would make a valueshove less likely with a lot of hands. antonio was threatening benyamines entire remaining 120k or whatever with his 40k re-raise. benyamine almost blew it with his table manner and antonio couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. it was sick because he could'nt think benyamine would ever bet-3bet there with J9 bottom two, much less J2. he was likely afraid benyamine would give wtf call w/ AJ, but benyamine basically signalled that he wouldn't and didn't hold that hand. had antonio just called he would have undoubtedly moved it in on the river after a benyamine check. |

In the big hand, why was Antonio's last raise so small? Was there any logic behind it? I'm solidly a low stakes player, so obviously my experience may not apply, but small 3+bets on the turn always reeked of BS to me, and ultimately represented weakness. It seemed like he was trying to bluff without putting a lot of his money in, and wound up burning more of it, but I'd be interested to hear from high-limit pros about it.

This might save some posts:
http://www.pokertube.com/SearchMovie...es%20poker%20s Once the vids at the top of that page say S03E13, then they are ready. It's usually around 1am (central time) - 2.5 hours from now. If you need a youtube link instead, same thing: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_ty...arch_category=0 Once the first results mention season 3 ep 13, then it's there. |
