[ QUOTE ] BTW- For the new software- don't waste any time with the bolding unread posts thing. [/ QUOTE ] Why? That was one of the big complaints people had. [/ QUOTE ] If bolding can be included in the CSS Style sheet for each skin then it shouldn't be hard to change. If not, I agree with Dids that people will get used to it over time - we should focus our efforts on other fixes. Ryan - if you need a hand with the style sheet coding, let me know. |

my vote is to dump ubb [/ QUOTE ] And replace it with what? I haven't seen a better solution so far from the POV of the end user. Its a simple interface, we are all used to it. I am all for dumping UBB, but we need a better solution first no? |

The poster who started the thread should not be in the same box as the subject.

[/ QUOTE ] Because I think that's a really silly complaint. It's very easy to use the red numbers to figure this out, and people just have to get used to this. It's silly to keep hacking the software to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I also agree with Matt about UBB. |

TT,
There's a whole category of business software called "load and performance testing applications." Guess what that software is used for? |

Dids, there are no red numbers next to new threads.
Not having the link colors change makes it really hard to read anything. Subjects, forums, posters, none change colors after I visit them. |

from what i'm hearing from chuck, the ubb software simply can't handle the traffic and ubb support isn't helping him.
i don't think we have a choice. this was not any fancy site upgrade. it was just a switch to the latest ubb software. obviously it's unacceptable. |

[/ QUOTE ] it looks like ubbthreads v7.1 has only been released as of 2/20/07. anyone who works in software development knows that brand new software on this scale doesn't work for at least 6 months and more often a year after initial release. see the windows vista flop |

[/ QUOTE ] I assume it was like "new thread (27)" so if you saw that the number of posts was equal to the number of new posts you new you hadn't read it. I do think that visited links should have a different color, and while my html knowledge stops short of CSS, I think that's an easy CSS fix. |
