BoostedJ plays 8+ HU 25/50 tables and posts in the forums at the same time. Some people are just machines like that.

I intend to play higher as soon as my bankroll lets me. I started with $100 playing 10NL and now play 50NL, and I believe most uNL players are in similar spots; it's just a matter of building up your bankroll and wading through the variance.

Paying bills drains my bank roll, and 50nl is much more forgiving to massive tilt session.

Ok, so there are a few general themes:

1. Bankroll limitations, whether it's what you can afford or amount of money willing to risk at one time.

2. Games get more competitive at the higher limits (sharks vs sharks) to make it either not as profitable and/or more stressful at the higher limits.

3. Skill/confidence reguired for the higher levels.

It seems like concensus that 50NL is the sweet spot as far as making a really good if not lucrative living at poker for the "average" Internet pro. I've always found it interesting that peoople who dissects hands and make thousands of posts on this forum are still at that level. Now I have a better understanding. Your reasons are all interesting.

SC Bielski, what was your starting BR at 10NL and how long did it take you to move past that (expressed in length or number of hands)?

And on a side note, 8 tabling 50NL is still an hourly rate of 50$, which is more than most jobs pay

What is your earn rate in PTBB to be making $50 an hour at 50NL even 8 tabling. It's gotta be almost 10 doesn't it?

I played up to 10/20 limit (usually spread as much 8/16 as I could find and filled in with 5/10 and 10/20, depending on games) but have switched to NL. I'm learning the game, so I'm at 50NL.

Not trying to hijack thread, but I find it amazing that people can play lots of NL tables. It totally screws up my game. I could probably play 2, but I wouldn't enjoy it much. I can play 4 tables of shorthand limit pretty comfortably. I'm wondering what the highest NL stakes you can get away with multitabling at is. I mean, do people 8-table NL 400? Arn't your reads just going to go down the tube?

[/ QUOTE ]

People 8 table 2000NL ... it is a habit more than anything, you start of with one table, then add another and before you know it, you are 4 tabling ... and it goes on.

Amazingly enough, you are still reading fairly well with 8 tables. You just quickly put people into boxes and then concentrate on the players you find as being good.

But then again I'm an ex sng donk, some of us (not me) 20-40 table. Seriously ... no kidding.

50$ is just a random number I threw out, but let us assume 5ptbb/100 that is the same as 5$/100, so with eight tables you are nearing 800 hands/hr or nearing 40$/hr

Which is nice enough ... 7ptbb/100 seems to get close to 50$
